Phew! Been a while! Life has been insane this past year and I'm finally on break from my first quarter of grad school, so expect a little more activity for the next couple of months! I updated my profile pic and have decided to lean away from warriors stuff and more towards general animation meme/community content! See y'all around~

Would you guys like a stream where I review your portfolios and give feedback? It can be your channel, your website, school portfolio, etc.

I'm thinking maybe even later today! What time would be best for everyone?

Might open commissions for short animatics. Range from 5-30 seconds probably. Set to music or dialogue clip or a prompt of the commissioner's choice.

Vote if you would actually get a commission:
Would you prefer YCH-style with pre-existing memes (like Soldier, Poet King)? Or original animatics where we would discuss the prompt and make an original little short?

Alrighty! Thanks for asking some awesome questions everyone! Since there were a handful, I'll try to answer them all here ^^

1. Best budget drawing tablet in your opinion?
---I can't recommend anything from HUION enough! They're affordable, quality, and have good customer support! I personally use the Kamvas Pro 13 (2.5k) (it's actually on sale right now!). If you want something bigger, go for the Pro 16. If you wanted to stay small and portable, the Pro 13 is perfect! I've been using it for 2 years now with no trouble or drop in quality.

2. Good advice for learning to storyboard?
---Learn the 180 Rule and NEVER BREAK IT (until you can).
---Learn the Rule of Thirds
---Storyboarding is more about solid drawings and good composition rather than lighting/slapping a ton of grays down and calling it "shading". Most professional storyboarding artists hardly use more than 2-3 different grays to separate foreground/background elements, or to separate characters from one another

3. Is animation what you do professionally or is it just a hobby?
---I would say I'm a professional storyboard artist, and I do animation on the side as a hobby!

4. What is the tree-like thing in Toon Boom Harmony? (Node View)
---The Node View is a little complicated to explain, but it's basically a different way to organize your layers and apply effects to them. It's SUPER important for rigging, puppet animation, and compositing in Toon Boom Harmony! I would try to learn it at least a little bit because it helps a lot with layer organization.

5. How long have you been animating for and how did you learn?
---Technically, I first started learning animation when I was 13-14 yrs old. Then I went to SCAD and majored in Animation and learned from animators who worked on Mulan, Brother Bear, and Lilo & Stitch!! After that, it was my own practice and self-study that got me to the level I am today. I would say I've been "seriously" animating for about 6 years now!

6. What would you recommend to someone who really wants to animate and has started to do it but sadly does not like their art/style? What do you do to get a style that you love?
---NEVER STOP TRYING!! STUDY THE MASTERS!!
---But seriously, practice makes perfect, and the #1 best thing you can do for yourself is to keep practicing and keep looking at other artists/animators who inspire you.
---Don't "copy" their work, but it's okay to lean towards a specific style that helps you understand anatomy, motion, expressions, etc
---As a professional storyboard artist, I drew 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, for the last year, and my art has improved SOOO MUCH! And it's because I was looking at my fellow storyboard artist teammates and looking at their styles and adapting their tricks to my own art!
---Your "style" will come with time. I *still* think my own style is always changing. What matters most is that you're happy with what you have now and want to keep improving!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR QUESTIONS!! I hope I answered them the best I could! If you have any more questions, feel free to comment below and I'll answer in a reply!
