I have been a church organist for 44 years & a pipe organ builder for the same length of time. I run a small firm of church organ builders & we usually have a playable instrument in our workshop. The current restoration project, is an 1865 tracker action (mechanical manuals) Forster & Andrews organ. I have another YouTube account specifically for organ building/restoration under "ConacherG0OJF". I am absolutely passionate about hymns played on the organ, and this YouTube channel is to reflect my interest. I play at 7 churches, so get some variety of instrument, though most organs are quite small in this area, and all were built pre-1910. Organ consoles were more standardised after 1914, so earlier instruments are always interesting to play. Many have ratchet swell pedals rather than the more usual & modern 'balanced' type. I have a strict rule for organs in the workshop, that wherever possible if a ratchet swell pedal is fitted on an organ, then we retain it.
