Apologies I forgot to post about this earlier, but LearnGit.io is currently 50% off until Wednesday 12/4 with code "blackfriday2024". For those who don't know, LearnGit.io is my online learning platform with over 40 in-depth Git tutorials. If you like this YouTube channel, I'm excited for you to see LearnGit.io — it's pretty awesome.

When I uploaded my new video about Gitflow, I had no idea the comments would be so divisive. Though the Gitflow branching model may not be as popular in today's world of CI/CD software development, the waterfall development cycle is still prevalent in plenty of software companies where continuous delivery is not possible. As developers, we don't always get to choose what branching model or version control system we use. Learning the pros/cons of different workflows is good practice. Rant over, enjoy the video! https://youtu.be/Aa8RpP0sf-Y

40+ additional Git videos are now available on LearnGit.io (learngit.io/). Thanks for all the patience over here on the YouTube side with the slow video releases as I get that project launched. In addition, I've also been busy learning to DJ (a bit random I know). For fun I posted my performance on my personal channel - if you're curious what I get up to outside of tech, here's your answer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AY0sD...

Thanks for your patience everyone, and apologies I haven't been able to post any videos this past month. I've been traveling a ton and focusing more on LearnGit.io. The good news is that a free version of LearnGit.io is in the works, so once that launches, everyone will get somewhere around 6-8 new Git videos instantly. I'll keep you posted on how that progresses, otherwise, thanks for sticking around. Hope you're all having a good July.

This comment gave me a chuckle this morning. Must have slipped past me when it was first posted.

I'm happy to report that LearnGit.io has officially launched and is now available to everyone. I appreciate all the folks (mostly from this audience!) who gave feedback during early access - your help was much appreciated.
No pressure, but if you're interested in this project, visit learngit.io/. I've revamped the homepage with a lot more information. Plus, lessons are now available to preview for free.
But for now I can finally get back to making videos! Thanks again for your patience and support on this project.
Cheers,
Jack

Hey everyone, I was planning a new video for this week but came down with a pretty bad cold. Thankfully it’s mostly passed, so I’ll be working on that for next week. I’ve been trying to post once every 2 weeks this year but this threw off the cadence. Anyways, thanks as always for the comments and support. Cheers

I want to send some appreciation to github.com/To1ne for recommending The Modern Coder and my LearnGit.io project to the Git Rev newsletter (git.github.io/rev_news/ ). I had a very nice experience speaking with some of the authors, and particularly like the open-source nature of the newsletter in general. I've already found out about a bunch of interesting Git resources by reading through some of the recent editions. Appreciate the support that comes from this community, and especially those who share the videos - it makes a difference. Thanks again!

Professional programming videos
My name is Jack Lot Raghav. I attended the University of Maryland where I graduated with a bachelors degree in Computer Science. Since then I’ve gathered experience in the tech industry, both as a software engineer and people manager. My longest stint was at Amazon for a total tenure of just over 6 years where I had the opportunity to work across both the Amazon retail and AWS businesses.
Over the years I've had the opportunity to mentor many engineers, and learned a lot about the business of building software inside of complex, global environments. My goal with this channel is to spark the same kind of excitement and enthusiasm that I had for the tech industry when I was first getting started. I appreciate you taking the time to watch my videos.
