I had a question about the new AtomRC Dolphin PRO from a viewer and wanted to share this as others may be interested. The comment concerned the fact that they had lost the rear hatch on the V1 of the Dolphin. I've never seen that happen but it appears that the rear hatch on the PRO has been improved too.
The new rear FC hatch cover is bevelled so that it is a snug fit that needs a decent amount of force to pull up and out. If you're worried about hatches popping open in flight then check out my free hatch latch here - www.thingiverse.com/thing:3624994

Over the last few years, I've shared some of the tips I use here to make the hobby easier.

I'm planning a quick video to collect them all together. But, do you have any tips you would add to this list? Let me know and I'll give credit in the video to any I add!

- Writing the battery type on the quad's XT60 (so you can remember which is 4s, which 6s)
- Writing the battery size and location inside the battery bay of a plane/wing for fast CG
- Putting spares in clear bags with a note on which model they belong to after a build
- Backup your radio every few months to avoid losing your setups
- When a model is flying great with INAV or BF, save a Diff_all and keep it safe!
- Mark a crash site so you can find the stuff you left in the field afterwards! ;)
- Develop your own system to keep track of which packs are fully charged at the field

Yesterday's video was a revisit of the basics of the modern Lithium based batteries we use in the hobby.
One of the common questions that always crops up is 'how do you discharge a battery when it's end of life?'
That got me wondering, how do you do it?

I wonder if I could pick your brains? I am considering a little series aimed at those brand new to EdgeTX and designed to allow a brand new user to setup and use the radio easily. In the past, I've tended to create videos that are 'self-contained' but maybe users are searching for specific things and can't find that content?

So, I'm thinking of a series that would use an EdgeTX powered radio and cover specific setup questions a new user may have. Things like:
- Menu tour
- Basic model setup for a quad
- Basic model setup for a plane
- Basic model setup for a wing
- Basic model setup for INAV/Ardupilot
- Adding EXPO
- Adding a throttle cut switch
- Adding a switch to a channel
- Binding a receiver
- How to update

I have some of these videos already but many are not made to answer a single issue that could be found easily with a simple search.

So, two things: is this a good idea? If you think it is, then what other things would be on this list?

Thanks for reading this and huge thanks if you take the time to reply! Happy flying!

It looks like HobbyKing are finally working to rebuild their LIPO battery offerings back up.

HobbyKing was my go-to vendor for cheap LIPO batteries and since they scaled back so many other vendors have filled that gap in the last 5 years.

However, I'm starting to hear more 'rumblings' from them on the LIPO and LI-ION battery front and these compact 2200mAh 3S packs weigh 147g with connector. I was hoping for a 4S versions for planes/wings (like those fab GensACE 2200mAh 4S 'Long-range' packs).

I'll keep an eye on this and report any other news, maybe this means a some new planes/wings are on the way? I hope so, I need a modern Bixler like the XFly X1300!

What R/C helicopter simulator would you recoemmend for a new pilot? I've been asked the question but don't know the options. If you are kind enough to offer a suggestion, can you also add the price of it too? Thank you in advance to any who share their knowledge... Happy flying!

A quick annual reminder that a polite, considered comment or question will always get a far more detailed answer on YouTube channels like this one.

This channel is a place to share knowledge and the fun of a great hobby. Comments and content where we support each other are welcome. See my very simple, common sense rules in the video descriptions.

This R/C hobby is a broad church and different folks like different stuff.
Love FPV quads? Great!
Love LOS fixed wing? Fab!
Love building stuff? Excellent?

So long as someone is being respectful, sharing knowledge, being supportive and having fun, it's all very welcome on my YouTube channel.

I guess all I’m saying is, “Be kind to each other, support other pilots and let's have fun!” Isn't that the whole point of any hobby, after all? To have fun?

Best wishes to all who can follow this simple, common sense approach and (as always) - Happy flying!

What do you consider the most dangerous way of hand launching a wing or plane?
