The National Council for Law Reporting (NCLR) - a semi-autonomous state agency - is Kenya’s focal point institution in providing access to public legal information. It is established by the National Council for Law Reporting Act, No. 11 of 1994.
The mandate of NCLR is to:
1. Monitor and report on the development of jurisprudence through the publication of the Kenya Law Reports, which contain the decisions of the superior courts of Kenya.
2. To revise, consolidate and publish the Laws of Kenya.
3. To undertake such other related publications and to perform such other functions as may be conferred by law.
NCLR is led by a Council chaired by the Chief Justice of the Republic of Kenya and has a secretariat based at A.C.K Garden Annex, 1st Ngong Avenue, Nairobi.
