Too busy in the house for a video.Lacto fermented sauerkraut.
Shredded cabbage, remove several outer layers 1st
Brine= 1 quart water with 1.5 tspns kosher or other non-iodized salt.
It may take several quarts of brine
Fill crock with brine to cover the shredded cabbage, using some of the outer leaves and weights to hold them down.
I do two weeks in crock, longer will produce a stronger taste.

My Bean Experiment
Spring 2023- I planted 25 Great Value Black Beans right out of the bag. 9 of them germinated. Out of those 9, for various reasons, only one survived to give exactly 7 beans. I replanted those this year and harvested about 2 lbs of black beans. I now have plenty to sow for Spring 2025

5 pounds of sweet potatoes from test digging the vines that volunteered in the compost pile. Now I just gotta get down and dig my patch for the rest.

Thank you for stopping. I'm Dave, and despite maintaining a 40 hour job outside the home, I still dream of my own homestead. My wife and I bought two acres about 10 years ago and I've spent that time first honing my garden skills, then more recently starting an apiary, and now a small flock of hens. There's plenty I know, and plenty more that I don't. I'll be posting mostly shorts that highlight tips or money/time/effort saving tips that I found or worked through myself.
