Doug Woolsey is a Los Angeles-based artist, composer, and librettist. Composing music since 2020, his work spans a variety of genres including soundtracks, electronic and media works, choral works, and works for voice and piano.
His choral work, Famine and Harvest, was selected as a finalist in The American Prize in Composition for choral music in 2023. In 2021, his ambient work, The Depths Obscure the Light, was selected as part of the LABS collection.
Additionally, Woolsey is a librettist and lyricist, producing both Stellar and Hammersmith, A Monodrama in 2023 for Seven Sisters Productions. He is currently working on several additional librettos for opera.
As one half of the ambient musical project, Wulfsige, Woolsey has written, produced, and recorded more than 22 albums to date and has appeared on multiple compilation and split recordings. See the Wulfsige bandcamp for more details.
