K: Who are the outsiders?
R: Well the outsiders come from many prides, but when they are born, they hate it because they are different from their tribe.
K: Like you and your tribe?
R: Yes, just like to me.
K: But, Rafiki.
R: Yes?
K: Why do they want to hurt everybody?
R: Sometimes the people most like you don't love you. It is a hurt that can cause the greatest pain and this pain can lead you to hate everything.
K: I'm glad that didn't happen to you, Rafiki.
R: Yes, my child, I glad too.

I freaked out and finally watched the Lion King: Mufasa. We haven't shown this movie in cinemas, so I was hoping to wait for it to be released online, and I did.

What can I say?

1) Simba repeated Mufasa's story. Both got into terrible circumstances (river flow and herd run), their fathers tried to save both of them (they even shouted the same words "Hold on! I'm coming for you!"), both became exiles, both grew up far from home, both met their love, both returned home with the help of Rafiki, both united the folk, both met the mothers they lost in childhood (their mothers both uttered the same words "How is this possible?"), both lost their fathers (they probably died saving their children, i.e. Mufasa's father died in that stream of water), both became kings.

2) The wisdom about the great circle of life, as well as the kings living in heaven and in our souls, was put into Mufasa by his mothers and Rafiki. What we used to call Prideland (Milele) turns out to be a completely new kingdom created by Mufasa and which was his dream – an ideal mythical place, a fairy tale where there is no place for evil, where everyone lives together and protects their home together.

3) Taka and Mufasa began to compete from the very beginning – who would be the first to reach the tree, who would be loved more by their parents, who would get Sarabi, who would become king. The parents are still kind of adequate. Mother is a fair, kind and wise hunter. She loves children equally and it was important to her that the brothers took care of each other. The father is a typical king, after whose reign there is "at least a flood", judging by the history books, although he tried to preserve his blood in his son. To give him his due, he spared Mufasa's life, kept his word to his wife, thanked Mufasa for saving his wife, sent the children away, and stayed with pride in mortal danger. However, he was lazy and weak, which Taka had also learned, which explained his cowardice. Mufasa grew up among lioness hunters, but Taka was not physically strong. Taka was also trained by the father of lies, as a powerful force of the king, and it destroyed him all the time. Even Rafiki condemned the brothers' lies about saving Sarabi. Taka was weak, even though he was kind and grateful, but he himself could not achieve anything, so he lied and cheated, but it never helped him. Sarabi's words that Taki's fate was to save Mufasa, maybe they are the bitter truth? Giving a chance at life to a future hero and king is noble and strong, right?

4) I was pleased and touched by several things. Taka's mother taught Mufasa to listen and feel, which is very similar to the lessons of the Grand Prince and his son Bambi. This skill repeatedly saved the lives of Mufasa's friends in the future, told him a little about Sarabi, helped them discover their mother, and so on.

Also, Sarabi probably remembered Mufasa's words "I got you" for the rest of her life, and after her husband's death she probably remembered them with pain in her heart.

Taka also saved Mufasa several times by digging his claws into him. Can you imagine what awe and horror Mufasa subsequently experienced moments before his death?

The other thing I noticed is that Taka keeps his word in front of the Kiros' pride, just like he will keep his word in front of the hyenas, talking about their humiliation and his help against Mufasa. These lionesses also resemble not only hyenas, but also the Zira's pride.

I was struck by the appearance of the Pride Rock. The earthquake, the battle in the water, the splitting of the stone. And also hyenas, which are not negative characters at all, but are part of this huge community.

FACIAL EXPRESSIONS, especially Kiros'. The creators really tried to make the characters more mobile and charismatic.

I liked MUFASA'S PARENTS. They are kind, friendly, open to the world, loving and hopeful for the best.

I noticed that in the end, after talking to Mufasa, Scar did turn his back on him, which Mufasa would not tolerate in the future.

5) What annoyed me was the creators' approach to the story. I understand that there are only a few plot development schemes, but SERIOUSLY? This story is extremely similar to what we have already seen, as well as like something else... In paragraph 1, I described how similar the stories are. "I always wanted a brother" is a beautiful and touching song, but Taka and Mufasa are a pure copy of Simba and Nala with their song "Just can't wait to be king". Fortunately, the chemistry between ALL the characters redeems this case.

6) Mufasa in the mountains reminded me a lot of Aslan from the Chronicles of Narnia. There was also eternal winter and the lion. Although Mufasa's character is more similar to King Peter, but he has a bit of business with Aslan too.

New is well forgotten old. I understand that the story is cyclical, but I still wasn't very impressed by this movie. It's touching and proper, but it's not new... everything that is told here has been told in the cinema 1000 times already. 7/10.

Here is a "short" review from me. Did someone really read it? Crazy? There's a lot of text here!

What do YOU think about this movie?

Merry Christmas! 🎆
I wish Merry Christmas to those who celebrate today!

I will clarify that we (Russia) celebrate New Year's Eve on the night of December 31 to January 1 on the same scale as Christmas is celebrated in Europe and America on December 25. And Christmas is considered a church holiday and is celebrated on January 7 according to the Julian calendar. So we will celebrate only on Tuesday, and then the whole country will rest at home for a week, but for now... exams.

I wish you a Merry Christmas🎄, more light🌠, warmth🥧 and joy🎁! Always keep in touch with your family and be kind and curious! Believe in miracles and do wonders for yourself!✨️
