Besides being one of my favorite synthwave producers, Simon Krauter (a.k.a. Edictum / Shades of Thunder / Mycorave) and me also share a huge passion for trance music. After a long time, I was really in the mood for playing some trance to my friends and, without particular tracklist in mind, I ended up doing a set featuring some of my favorite 90s and early 00s trance classics - from progressive, hard trance and classic trance sound to couple of goa and psytrance gems. I've really enjoyed this nostalgic trip (which gave me an excuse to use my old trance alter ego again) and luckily I remembered to press record button right near the end of the first track.
I hope you will enjoy this departure from my usual mixes. When it comes to music, trance was always my first and biggest love and sometimes it feels kind of strange listening to these classic trance gems of the past today, when the definition of "trance" has moved so much away from its 90s roots. 1. "R E T R O F U T U R E" is a recording from the killer party @ Monkey Club (Podgorica), where my buddy Guru Radan (from Neon Broadcast Serbia organization) and I did a 5-hour b2b set, maybe my hardest live DJ set ever, featuring pumping, dancefloor-oriented synthwave and modern italo disco vibes, with a pinch of darksynth/cyberpunk!
2. On the other hand, "A Night To Remember" is a recording of my slowest live DJ set so far, featuring chill/dreamy/balearic synth vibes mixed with '80s soundtracks and some slower synthwave classics. It was a perfect soundtrack for a rainy evening with close friends, at this incredibly charming and cozy little place called 201 Engaging Space (Podgorica)
