This is the story of a seasoned professional photojournalist with some forty-plus years of work in the news business, who cut his photographic teeth as a high school yearbook and college newspaper photographer with his very first Nikon - a silver and black Nikon Photomic F 35mm film camera (Which I still owns, btw).
As with many shooters, old and young, the love and mystique of film cameras and film photography is coming back into "hipness!"
I had bought a 1970s Zorki 4 Russian-made 35mm rangefinder, the pride of the Motherland at the time. After shooting with this old Russian, I just wasn't happy. So I sold off some old 35mm cameras and the Zorki and purchased a camera made the year I was born - 1955. Let me introduce my beautiful Nikon S2 rangefinder!
This is a vintage film camera diary, of sorts, as you are welcomed to follow along on this photographic journey documenting the ups and downs of shooting with a vintage Nikon, as well as with my everyday Fujifilm cameras!
Thanks!
