ஜீவசமாதி என்பது ஜீவன் + சமம் + ஆதி. ஆதியாகிய இறைவனிடம் இருந்து வந்த ஜீவனை சமன்செய்தல் என்றுப் பொருள்.யோகிகள், சித்தர்கள் போன்றவர்கள் சித்தம் என்னும் அறிவைக் கொண்டு மனதை வெல்வதற்கு வாழ்வில் கடுமையான ஒழுக்கங்களையும், உயர்ந்த தவநெறிமுறைகளையும் பின்பற்றி வருகின்றனர். அலைமோதும் ஜீவனை ஒருநிலைப்படுத்தி, தன்னையே உயர்ந்தவனாக ஆக்குவதே சித்தர் கடவுளைக் காண முயன்று கொண்டிருப்பவர்கள் பக்தர்கள். ஆனால், கண்டு தெளிந்தவர்கள் சித்தர்கள்
