BEADY EYE:
Are an English rock band that formed in London. Following the departure of guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Noel Gallagher from the band Oasis, lead vocalist Liam Gallagher decided to end the band and form a new one in its place, retaining guitarist Gem Archer, bassist Andy Bell [who switched to the role of guitarist] and drummer Chris Sharrock. The band began writing and recording new material as early as November 2009, and are expected to release their debut single in October 2010, followed by a full-length studio album in early 2011, which will be produced by Steve Lillywhite. The live bassist for Beady Eye is Jeff Wootton, while Jay Darlington retains his role from Oasis as live keyboardist.

Originally known as The Rain, the group was formed by Liam Gallagher, Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs, Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan and Tony McCarroll, who were soon joined by Liam's older brother Noel Gallagher. They have had eight UK number-one singles, seven UK number-one albums, fifteen NME Awards, nine Q Awards, four MTV Europe Music Awards and six BRIT Awards, including one in 2007 for outstanding contribution to music and one for the best album of the last 30 years as voted by the BBC Radio 2 listeners, and also for being nominated for three Grammy Awards. As of 2009, the band have sold an estimated 70 million records worldwide. Also the band was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2010 for Longest Top 10 UK Chart Run By A Group after an unprecedented run of 22 successive Top 10 hits in the UK. The band also holds the Guinness World Record for being the "Most Successful Act of the Last Decade" in the UK between the years 1995 and 2005, spending 765 weeks in the Top 75 singles and albums charts.
