They have been called a hobby, a toy, and a toy for adults. They are all correct but to me, it is so much more. You also get to see everyday activity from a different perspective, a different perspective of the air. You also get to meet new people, young and old, often from other countries. They become friends as we all fly together.
Go ahead and fly those planes, fly those drones, fly those helicopters, fly anything. You learn, you get confidence,
and you meet new people! The benefits are just too great.
