️🔥️🔥️🔥 Episode 1 of the new series is in production. I went back and watched the entire MK3 series to figure out how to improve. I made some mistakes with the MK3 story that I will avoid in the MK4 story. I wrote a huge ass summary below which goes into detail.
The plot of MK3 was about starting with multiple separate stories that all combine into one, but once the stories combined, character development dropped off a cliff. Characters started off with interesting stories, but once they joined forces with the main roster, they ended up having no purpose other than helping during battles. To correct this... I wrote the MK4 story in a way that keeps characters separated as much as possible, which will allow me to really work on developing each character. It will be similar to the first half of the MK3 story.
A common complain is that certain characters used to be badass, and then they became useless later, and that's because I was able to put more focus on these characters when they were fighting in smaller groups. Part 7 for example is all Stryker and Kabal, so all of the focus and time was dedicated to their fighting, but near the end of the series I had 20 characters fighting at the same time, so this attention to detail was lost. Keeping characters separated in the MK4 story will allow me to showcase every character in battle as well.
For the MK3 series the fight scenes were way too long, and this is the reason the videos took forever to produce. I think Kitana's Escape is the perfect length fight scene, which was around 7 minutes, so when you compare that to the 27 minute Shao Kahn fight, it's just way too much. For the MK4 series the story will be the priority, and fight scenes will scaled back to where they were during the 2014/2015 era. This will allow me to pump out videos much faster.
I also got better at animating over the years, and I got better software over time, which resulted in a huge drop in quality during the first few episodes. So overall... the story of the series got worse over time, but the fighting got better over time, but for the new series I'll be able to keep both up to par.
I also hated the emeralds, but I was stuck with them the whole time. The emeralds are still around in MK4, but they are going to be stashed away and not involved with the plot for most of the story. They are still significant since they contain Shinnok's power, but the whole emerald hunting thing isn't happening again.
So overall the new series is about quality over quantity. These 30 minute fight scenes with 20 characters involved just wasn't the correct way to do it.

️🔥️🔥️🔥 I'm almost ready to begin producing Episode 1 of the MK4 series. I've decided to call it Mortal Kombat Betrayal since that fits the plot. This here is Shinnok's Throne in The Netherrealm, which was built using assets from Deviant Art user greenshot453, who you can check out here: www.deviantart.com/greenshot453

I'm gonna be uploading some stuff like this on my other channel while I get things ready for the next series. The entire thing is written, I just need to divide it up into episodes. It looks like the MK4 series will be significantly shorter than the MK3 one.

Graphic design is gonna be a big challenge for the next series because there's no MK4 sprites, so I have to build every area. My plan is to take take bits and pieces from various Mugen stages like I did in this image. Since I needed a Sewer for this scene, I took The Sewer Mugen stage and then modified it to fit the scene.

🔥🔥🔥 I've been building a whole new production process for the new series. I updated all of my software and rebuilt my production process from scratch. My old way of making these videos wasn't efficient at all, so it's time to start over and come up with something better. I now have a new dialogue system that allows me to just type the next direction into Adobe Premiere, which is much faster, and it also allows me to have unique dialogue boxes for each character, so I could have Raiden's dialogue box be blue with lightning around it, and stuff like that.
The second half of the OST from the first series is also ready to be upload this weekend. I tried uploading it a while ago, but copyright claimers blocking the video in all countries because of the tracks I used for the first half of the series. I was going to mute those tracks, but I decided it would be better to go back and arrange my own versions of the music from the first half of the series. I figured this would be a good idea long term because I might end up using some of them in the new series.

🎵🎵🎵 An OST for the series will be coming this Friday. I didn't realize there was 4 hours of music in the series, so I've separated the story music from the fighting music. The story/dialogue music is coming Friday.

Hope yall enjoyed the MK3 saga. Most already know that an MK4 story is being written, but I want to keep uploading videos until then. Not sure what to do next, so here's a poll.

Part 35 is ready to go! It'll Premiere Saturday October 12th at 11AM EST. The original plan for this video was a short 15 minute video that could be finished in 1 month, but it just kept getting bigger and bigger, and ultimately ended up being 30 minutes long.

All of the animation in Part 35 is finished, now I'm just editing together the scenes and adding sound effects. I'm also putting together the sound track for the credits as well.
There's also some weird thing going on between YouTube and SESAC which is resulting in videos with certain music getting blocked in the USA. I'm not sure if my videos are effected, but the SESAC thing should be over in a week or two.

Just a few more dialogue scenes to finish up for Part 35. I should be able to get it finish this month. The direction of the video has changed over time, now it's less of an ending, and more of a send off into the MK4 series.

Mortal Kombat Reconciliation started in 2010 when I was just fooling around with sprites, then as I learned how to do sprite animations, the series started to get popular and became what it is today. The story is based off of the Mortal Kombat 3, and it shows a more detailed story line compared to the original. Today my channel is dedicated to this one animated series, however when the series is done I will begin uploading singular fight scenes and other MK related projects.
Note: Due to YouTube's ad policies against violent content, this channel is mostly funded by fan donations. If you wish to contribute to the channel, I have a Patreon page where I upload sprites, music, and other extra content, or you can send Bitcoin (BTC) to the following address...
