I discovered the first Kondi Band album on Bandcamp, and really loved the music. It was great to come across the connection with Sierra Leone, I'd already heard Sorie Kondi on Afropop Worldwide. I messaged Boima and told him how much I was into the project - fast forward a couple of years and he got in touch during the first lockdown to suggest doing something on the new album. I didn't really expect it and I was so excited! I'm very happy to be involved in the project. Watch out for their album which will be released on Strut Records soon!
