Patito Feo is an Argentine musical teen telenovela created by Ideas Del Sur that aired on Disney Channel from 2007 to 2011 in over 50 countries across Europe, Asia and Latin America. The show became a global phenomenon and is considered the first non-english highest-rated teen series with international success in album sales, world tours and merchandising.
The telenovela is set in the Pretty Land School of Arts, a prestigious private school of Buenos Aires, with a major plot line revolving around two teen girl groups – Las Populares (fun, lovely & colourful style) led by Patito Castro (Laura Esquivel) and Las Divinas (all about glam & fashion diva style) led by Antonella Lamas Bernardi (Brenda Asnicar) – who will compete on the music talent contest of America’s most important record label, who is looking for a new artist to sign.
