Tragic News: Renowned creator, director and writer of Twin Peaks, Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, Dune, and Wild at Heart, David Lynch has passed away at the age of 78 (four days shy from his birthday.) The steep decline of the filmmakersâs health was afflicted by emphysemaâlater worsened by the L.A. wildfires. In the last stages of his life, Lynch was undergoing a divorce in December 2024 when the fires struck his home. Both his house and legacy were burned to the ground. Nonetheless, the calculative mind of Lynchâs work and surrealist idiosyncrasies has become the cornerstone of late 20th century film media, garnering an audienceâs movements of praise and awe. He will be missed.
