Some happy ducks! They are very fond of sleeping under the patio furniture during the day.

For all those familiar with my ducks, I started with 3 black swedish females in July, all 3 days old. Tragically, last week, Poppy the runt fell ill and began to move and eat less and less. By Friday, she barely moved all day. I took her to the vet and they determined it was pneumonia and prescribed her antibiotics and tube feeding for at least a week.
On Sunday, I went to tube feed Poppy and I failed to hold her down correctly and she flailed while I held her head steady, which snapped her neck. She died, however she also wasn't improving, so I believe she was going to die soon naturally from her illness.
In lighter news, I bought 2 muscovy ducks from a farm event nearby and added them to the backyard flock. They make no noise and have a wonderfully calm temperament and already eat out of my hand and greet me!
