These live stereo recordings were captured for Denver Open Media broadcasts on channels 56 and 57 in Colorado, as well as KBDI channels 12 and 32 in Colorado Springs/Pueblo. Venues included Old Town Music Hall, Eck's Saloon, PinkE'e, Andolini's Jammin Joe's, and Smokin' Joe's from 1997 to 2012, utilizing standard definition video mixers, recorded onto DVD recorders.
Over 15 years, the Byars Family, alongside volunteers and student interns from Ohio School of Broadcasting and local Colorado TV stations, documented over 5000 bands, amassing the world's largest catalog of 4-camera local band videos, representing almost every band in Colorado during that era. Typically, 2-3 bands were recorded daily, resulting in over 3000 band videos which were posted on MySpace before MySpace ceased video operations and deleted everything. In 2011, Coloradorock expanded with High Definition television equipment and a 24-track recording studio, initiating the Coloradorock Music show on FOX 31 in Denver.
