Sometimes being a rebel is the key. I had the worst academic result as a Medical Science student. “The biology and chemistry no gree enter my head.” Any course mate who knew me back then in Medical school, would swear I was dumb as fuck! But taking a retrospective of things I ask myself was I really dumb or was I trying to be a doctor rather than a software programmer?
Albert Einstein once said: “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
I am glad I didn't force myself to climb the proverbial tree of Medical School, instead I found my water in software development.
I am glad I dropped out of medical school. I trained myself and gained admission into Computer Science. My passion for software development and football, meant I spent my early software development years trying to predict sports betting and virtual games. @official_1960bet and @nairabetng stores around my school acted as my second home.
I would be honest with you; the starting was hard. “O hard gon” as my Yoruba brothers and sisters would say. When I started, the proceeds of gambling weren't easy to come by. At a point in 2013 I lost everything I had won on sports betting; I became broke that I almost dropped out of school because I couldn't afford tuition fees.
Despite the obstacles, I didn't give up. I channeled my passion for software development and football and proceeded in developing Artificial Intelligence software to predict virtual sports bets. After my little success in predicting the outcomes of virtual games I launched my first software company Realnapsbet LTD.
My mom obviously couldn't understand. To her I looked better in lab coats and each time I assisted her at the clinic all she could see was a doctor to take over for her, to her I disappointed her and fell short of her expectations. I don't blame anyone for not supporting me or seeing I was made for this software shit but for everyone who knew I had something in me, thank you❤️
