in the future - u will be able to do some more stuff here,,,!! like pat catgirl- i mean um yeah... for now u can only see others's posts :c
Well, I have absolutely no idea if there's anything to be done about this situation... but YouTube hates old videos that I'm only just getting around to dealing with... I think.
If you can see this, but didn't see the video that I'm linking to here, let me know! (Or if the opposite is true, let me know about that, too!)
YouTube has very strange thoughts and practices when it comes to videos that sit around for a certain length of time without publication, which makes it very difficult to manage various feeds and scripts and processes that relate to them...
So, worst case scenario, I'm going to have to manage these videos and their tangled web of links manually... ... ... darn, and just when I'd thought I made a cozy little nest of automated processes for myself with regard to them!

I don't know if anyone looks at these things, and I probably should've thought of this awhile ago... but YouTube's unfriendliness to certain older videos finally getting published seems to have skipped over this one.
People like Dragon Quest IV, right? People like Torneko Taloon, right?! :3

Actually, speaking of which... do these... things... actually go... somewhere? ("Papa can you hear me~?")
It wouldn't surprise me at all if it's a thing I disabled a long time ago on my own feed or deliberately ignore if it shows up as some malarkey YouTube keeps feeding people against their will each time they change something...
So... I guess, yet again... sorry notsorry if you never noticed because... magic! (A wizard did it. She's sorry about it!)

Uh... oops? I was trying to NOT be a lazy bum for a strange change of pace, doing some reorganization behind the scenes that doesn't really solve anything or help anyone... ... ....and I might've accidentally messed up people's subscription boxes? Maybe? Maybe not. YouTube's so unhelpful with what it does and doesn't want to automatically do when you press certain buttons or change certain settings...
So... sorry!
Unless you didn't see anything and you're not affected by what I did and quickly un-did!
Then... sorry!
(Sorry notsorry?) :3

Oh, I guess people keep watching these. Not my first notification for 10K, but also far from my first to reach that threshold... when did they start pushing these?

Frankly, I'm surprised I didn't get knocked down by some arbitrary character limit, or all the whitespace being converted to single spaces. (Video descriptions are still 5,000-or-less characters of text.)

I'd like to point out how little shows before "Read more" cuts it off. Versus the space YouTube dedicates to promoting the "feature." Nice.

For that matter, since I actually HAVE this "platform" for a moment (until YouTube decides to change, seemingly at random, without consulting or even warning... anyone, as far as I can tell, as usual), let's talk about "community" versus "discussion"...
Actually, it's been longer than I can remember since YouTube has actually promoted "discussion," by consistently dismantling anything even remotely resembling a user-friendly means of responding to those who respond to you. I don't remember specifically what the "Discussion tab" must have done, but my best guess is anything but actually hold discussion. Such a strange idea, once upon a time being able to reasonably do just that.
Almost every means of being alerted to a comment seems designed to funnel users to video pages, presumably to generate more page views... even if by the video's own uploader (to what logic I won't even inquire, apparently it's all the same to YouTube, don't worry), instead of some lightweight direct access to the comment in question to facilitate... y'know, discussion.
Plus the fact that there used to be a centralized inbox for all comments, replies, and even direct messaging... wait, remember when THAT used to be a thing? Now, all you get is a reverse-chronological list of all new, non-reply comments (distinctly obscuring child comments, discouraging, again, that thing called "discussion"), shoved together with no real organization or navigation options beyond "show more"... until, hopefully, the user is dissuaded from digging further in frustrated resignation.
But, no, thanks, YouTube. Thanks for realizing there's no real "Discussion" to be had, let's call it what it is... ... ..."Community"... right then. A new deceit by a different name.
I mean, there was a time when I felt like YouTube was fostering a sense of community. I barely remember it now, because it's been forever since I could... like... "communicate" with a "community"... see how the two might be related? Connected?
Before communication was totally axed... slowly, surely... then in huge chunks... now there's basically none, I would notice many repeat commenters. Fans would engage in my videos (heavens know why, bless their demented hearts), and I could in turn engage in their responses. Every exchange was an opportunity for an endearing new encounter... I mean, it's the Internet, of course it wasn't every--or even most times--but it was an avenue of possibility. Some people I engaged in this way became long-term acquaintances, followers, even friends.
Now, not much really. If everyone is reduced to shouting at one another aboard ships passing in the night, there's no more engagement. No more discussion. No more community. No more realistic POSSIBILITY for community.
I still try my best, of course... but with the tools at my disposal actively discouraging their own use, making it harder to hold on to that old promise: the all but systemically eradicated art of communication. The very core of community, all but dead, save for the fact that people still exist and will still attempt to commune by whatever methods they can, even without being provided reasonable convenient opportunities to do so.
But what do I know? I'm just one exceedingly foolish voice, shouting in the vastness created in what was once a breeding ground for "community"... atop a soapbox graciously provided (after taking it away, because this is by far among the least meaningful or effective means of meaningful discourse) by those who have eagerly stamped out communication. Thanks!
(I guess those who wish to hear and be heard should turn to... basically ANY other platform for such other than YouTube. Good job, you guys, really.)
