I am from Japan and I know that my old homeland committed atrocities and aggression against many countries. My heart breaks for the countries that have suffered from this.
But at the same time, I do not believe that the Japan of the past is an absolute evil. I believe that there is no such thing as an absolutely righteous country or an absolutely evil country in this world. I neither approve nor disapprove of any country.
I understand the tragic past but want to get along with people from countries that used to be hostile to Japan. I think it is equally important not to be stuck in the past and to know the past.
Surely we can understand each other. Please understand my attitude and enjoy my work!
