It's the 7 year anniversary of DASHAVATAR. Which is our fav song from this album?
One of the few things I regret in life is the subject matter of this album. With the growing Hindu extremists in India and calls for a Hindu rashtra it causes me much distress that I didn't realize that people are delusional enough to not be able to separate myth from reality. Despite me making a very clear opening paragraph that Man made demons and man made gods. But you can't put toothpaste back in the tube.
But all said and done I am super proud of how this album turned out. I'm happy with how I was able to tell these myths through the lyrics and I'm glad I came away with the learning that I will never make the mistake again to write about mythology.
During the pandemic we put our music up for free download and it's remained free since then. You can listen or grab a copy from demonicresurrection.bandcamp.com/ and you can pay for it if you feel it's worth your money.
This album featured Virendra. G. Kaith on drums, Ashwin Shriyan on bass, Nishith Hegde on lead guitars and guest performances by Rishab Seen, Devang Shinde, Kaushik Ramachandran, Pratika Evangeline Prabhune and Sidharth Bharadwaj.
24 years of Demonic Resurrection. 7 years of Dashavatar.

Twenty four years of Demonic Resurrection. Twenty four years of extreme metal. Twenty four years of persistence. Twenty four years of being Demonic. Twenty four years.
Cheers to everyone who has been a part of this journey. \m/
PS: Aditya Swaminathan is still in the band but we've never had the chance to take a band photo 😅

For what it's worth we made it to the cover of Rolling Stone India in 2014. It's not every day a symphonic death metal band does that.

Change is the only constant. After 16 years we (Demonic Resurrection) and Viru will be going our separate ways.
It has been an absolute honour and pleasure to have Viru in the band. When JP quit in 2006 we knew there was only one drummer who had the speed and technical ability to play the music, and that was Viru. He joined us full time in 2007 and has been an integral part of the band and contributed to how we shaped our sound over the years. He recorded drums on our landmark albums 'The Return To Darkness', 'The Demon King' and 'Dashavatar'. When Viru joined the band he wasn't a full time drummer but today he is one of the most sought after drummers and plays with some of the biggest names in the Indian music scene.Unfortunately that also means that sometimes we have to make hard choices and we both agree it's best for DR to move forward and find fresh blood to sit on that drum throne. I can count myself to be very lucky to have jammed, recorded and toured the world with one of the best, if not the best metal drummer in India. But what's better is that I made a good friend forever. And while we may not continue our musical journey together in DR, I know he's going to continue to drum up a storm in whatever project he's a part of. I wish Viru all the best in his journey ahead. For now though DR will look forward to re-building the band with a new line up and hopefully some new music as well. Till then, Cheers & Stay Demonic! - Demonstealer
Viru says "Love to all the fans that have supported us for all these years. Listened to our music, attended our gigs, bought our music and merch. It was a pleasure to be a part of Demonic Resurrection, that broke all the barriers, to be known on a global scale and create a platform for future bands from India. To the experiences I had with the Demonstealer, who pushed the limit of musicality with every album.
Cheers and stay Demonic!
