Hello friends!

It's been a long time since I last posted here—how have you all been? I hope you’re healthy and well! First, let me say how grateful I am for each of you: thank you so, so much for still being here! Even though I haven’t been active, I have not forgotten about this channel or you. Today, I just wanted to check in, catch up, and share a bit of what’s been happening.

My last video was in 2020, and a lot has happened since then, both in my career and personal life. I’ve always loved creating cooking videos because it lets me share the food I love and motivates me to explore new cuisine and techniques. The more I learned, the more I realized how much there still was to discover! So, in 2020, I took a leap: I left my finance career, went to culinary school, and in January 2021, I started working in the kitchen full-time. It’s been a challenging but incredible journey—I’ve made friends, learned from amazing mentors, and definitely had a few humbling (and hilarious) moments along the way. It’s everything I had hoped for and then some!

On the personal side, it’s been a period of growth and reflection. Like many, I struggled with anxiety and self-doubt, which pushed me to seek support and start working with a therapist. Therapy has been transformative; it’s helped me recognize the thinking patterns that were holding me back, and it’s been a journey toward self-acceptance and compassion. One reason I stopped posting was feeling that nothing I made was "good enough." I could only see “flaws” while editing my videos, to the point I scratched the entire project. It took some angry and teary counselling sessions, because I had to be honest with myself and that’s not always easy. But I’ve started to release my perfectionism—there’s still a long way to go, but I’m proud of the progress so far. If you’re reading this and struggling to show compassion for yourself, please know you’re not alone, and I wish you all the best and am sending you lots of love. ❤️

Now, I feel ready to start creating content again! And this time, it won’t just be cooking videos. Besides food, I’d love to share some of my other hobbies with you, like journaling and sewing. (I even started an Etsy shop to share my handmade pieces, partly to justify my fabric stash, lol). I want to create videos that bring a little peace and joy to our busy world because, honestly, you’re all like friends to me.

If you’ve read this far, thank you for sticking with me through this long update. Take care, and I hope to see you in a new video soon!

XOXO,
Songing ❤️
