Originally from Norfolk, Virginia, Aaron Tessler grew up in a musical household, participating in synagogue life from a young age. Aaron studied classical voice at the Peabody Conservatory, in addition to refining cantorial technique under the tutelage of his father, Cantor Jacob Tessler. Today, he continues his vocal development under esteemed vocal coach and cantor, Donald Roberts. Aaron Tessler's familiarity with, and dedication to, traditional nusach combined with an appreciation for contemporary and lively tunes creates a unique davening style that appeals to worshipers of all ages, types, and tastes. Aaron spent six years as Cantor of the historic Bnai Israel Congregation of Baltimore, Maryland (“The Lloyd Street Shul”), and currently serves as one of the Ba’alei Tfilah for the High Holidays at Beth Tfiloh Congregation in Pikesville, Maryland, while also leading services at various congregations throughout the country during the year.
