Guys I have a few very exciting news to share with you today! 👀
First boxes of Zebra Dry Plate Tintypes have been sent out today. A few hours after their release last week my whole lot of plates was gone. I expect a new shipment of tin plates to arrive in the next few days so get your box before it's too late again! 🤷♂️🙏

Yesterday our channel got hacked in and a few spam videos where published. Luckily also thanks to many of you who contacted me I managed to gain back the control so thankfully things are back in order now!

Zebra Dry Plate Tintypes deliver an impressive positive image on black surface with the finest grain quality. Overall they are very similar to a more well known Wet Plate version with a few advantages. Because they are coated with Silver Gelatine emulsion which is then dried, plates can be used for months and developed whenever you desire just like with Standard Dry Plates. No rushing and portable darkrooms, all you need is a special developer mixture to achieve a whitish negative. Dry Plate Tintypes come in all standard sizes...

📸Standard Zebra ISO 2 Dry Plate metered at boxed speed and exposed for 2s at f/6.5
🎞Developed at 24C for 1min30s in 300ml of Kodak HC-110 diluted with water 1:60 + 7g of Ammonium Thiocyanate
Not ideal especially when it comes to temperature which should be at 20C but that's what we had on the spot. With lower temp. the development would be longer and the fogging agent would have more time to make the whites pop out more. Emulsion side was later spray painted black to get the ambrotype effect.

This self portrait was made last week when I launched proudly New Zebra Wet Plate Holders. I absolutely love the morning light that renders through the Trees and casts Beautiful shadows on my shipping container darkroom. It's like an overlay of nature which is not the easiest to capture but hey I did it with colour blind Dry Plates 😁
