Our Little Suburban Homestead was created in order to share our families ongoing journey in creating a home where we can grow some of our own food and harvest our own eggs, whilst using the resources we have available. We don't have acres of land or tons of money at our disposal, and nothing about what we do is perfect; but it is real. We both have full time jobs, and do these projects in our spare time, so it is a slow journey.
Sharing a common interest with many in the suburban community who may wish to do the same, the goal is to learn and share what we've done and if someone can benefit from watching, that is awesome.
When I see so many beautiful projects/creations online and on TV it can feel overwhelming and as though we're not good enough. I wanted to share our imperfections. So if you're in the same mindset, and there is a project you want to do but feel it won't be good enough, just get started and do a little bit at a time. And even if it's not perfect, at least it's yours.
