A native of the Bahamas, Elijah Stevens is the 2023 1st Place winner of the international New York Classical Music Competition and the Fanny Mendelssohn International Piano Competition. As the 2024 Gold Prizewinner in the Golden Key International Piano Competition, he will be making his Carnegie Hall debut in April 2024. This year Elijah has been invited as a full scholarship participant-performer at the Brevard Summer Institute & Festival and the Gijon International Piano Festival in Spain. His story of overcoming homelessness in pursuit of his musical dreams went viral and received international acclaim. Currently he is an artist diploma piano performance student at the Royal Conservatory of Music- Glenn Gould School where he studies with Dean James Anagnoson and Li Wang. He is a graduate of Bethune-Cookman University and former student of Olga Kern at Manhattan School of Music. His life’s motto is “Never Take No For An Answer.”
