Once, Anna Akhmatova said to her interlocutor, who admitted that she was trying to read “Ulysses” by J. Joyce, but did not understand it: “You don’t understand [the book] because you don’t have time. And I read five hours a day and read it six times. At first I also had the feeling that I didn’t understand, and then everything gradually became clearer, you know, like a photograph that is developed.”
The same can be said about many films, which also need to be reviewed more than once in order to notice individual details and meanings. But not everyone has the time or desire to watch the same film multiple times.
In my video essays, I pay attention to details that for many viewers may have gone unnoticed upon first viewing, but which really deepen the understanding of the plot, the psychology of the movie characters, their relationships and make the film more interesting and deeper.
Maybe in my video essays you will find some thoughts that are practically useful for life.
