Rosetta Tharpe was an influential gospel singer and electric guitar player. Her iconic and eclectic style of genre was widely popular throughout the early years of the 20th century. She was a significant and important part of early rock and became an influence for a number of famous rock musicians in later years.
Originally performing under the name Rosetta Tharpe in her younger years, she later became known as Sister Rosetta Tharpe as her skills in the gospel rock genre developed and her acclaim grew wider.
