One thing I always practice is wearing my mom's or grandmother's sarees and blouses. In this picture, I'm wearing a decades-old blouse that belongs to my mother, paired with an organic cotton saree from Coonoor, Tamil Nadu.
I love ethnic wear, and a sustainable habit that is very close to my heart is repurposing or reusing old sarees. It’s like carrying the legacy forward! If an old saree is no longer fit to be worn as a saree, I transform it into a suit, dress, or co-ord set. Discarding them is never an option! There’s so much life left in old outfits.

Work never truly ends, especially when you're on holiday. Despite my efforts to disconnect from work during vacations, the journalist in me is always brimming with stories. If I don't capture them immediately, their essence fades. I'm not sure if it's the journalist or the writer in me that drives this compulsion.

As someone who is bringing out stories about people and the planet, I can confidently say that it is not just us who can bring a change, it is each one of us.
News With Navya has been talking about climate action and innovations that can challenge the crisis. But how many people are actually watching our videos? Majority of the global audience is still busy watching cute dog videos and everything that is away from news and information that can empower us.
My independent news venture started nearly two years ago with limited savings and unending expenses. The motive: to bring out news that can change the way we look at the climate crisis and also step up to do our bit. But our efforts are only one side of the story. As a news platform that runs on public contribution, we need views, interest and attention. We are living at a time when news has to be catchy and interesting enough for you to watch and invest your few seconds. More than the news itself, we are spending time on understanding how it reaches you and how we can make it fun to watch. Trust me, a lot can change if a story goes out at 7 pm and not 6 pm.
News has lost its seriousness and the attention it deserves. But in the middle of all the doom and gloom, we also understand that people are no longer willing to consume information that is disturbing or worrisome.
Let me give you an insight into what goes behind publishing one of our news video reports. There is an editorial understanding to carefully and responsibly choose what matters to you and at what time. This is followed by detailed research and fact checking to ensure you’re not exposed to any unverified information. Then comes the scripting to make sure the story is convincing and interesting to you. After all, they are all stories remaining to be told. Visuals are the soul of any video story and we, at News With Navya, take it very seriously. We understand the need to show the right image and the appropriate video to help you connect to the issue better. And whatever follows next is your bit. How you consume our news, how you take responsibility to make sure it reaches others around you and how you decide to act on it.

As someone who has been actively reading, learning and talking about climate action- I think it is THE MOST interesting sector! There are brilliant minds in every corner of the world that are producing unbelievable technologies and solutions to tackle climate change.
Over the past few months I have interacted with multiple start-up owners and sustainability enthusiasts who have quit comfortable jobs to make a difference!! A REAL DIFFERENCE!!
Nothing has been more satisfying and exciting that listening to change-makers talk about their journey and motivation. Climate change impacts everyone, but there are only some who choose to do something about it!
