We've been incredibly busy remodeling our new house and preparing for the move. But now its time to build some cages for the new rabbitry.
Its going to take me a few weeks, but we'll have videos on how to make my style humane rabbit cages. My goal is to have a miniebook with a formal set of plans available to Patrons at a steep discount. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience!

Lots of plywood scraps for next boxes and goat houses! Would this be easier to move with a tractor? Yes! Would I like to get a tractor someday? Probably.
But is a tractor necessary? Not at all! We've been doing all the work on the home renovations and setting up the farm by hand. This does take longer, but there are advantages.
While we lose time, we save on the cost of heavy equipment. And it helps us keep us sharp by knowing how to work efficiently. But most importantly, it keeps us strong and healthy!
150 years ago farmers were the archetype of health and strength. Today farmer obesity rates are high and climbing. There is some truth to the stereotype of the heavy man on the tractor.
So I could save a bunch of time and use a tractor. Then I could spend that extra time in a boring indoor gym trying to maintain my health. Or worse, i could spend it in front of the TV. But I'd rather take that time working by hand, gaining strength and skills the whole time.
While this doesn't scale, if you've only got a few acres or a small homestead, its a viable (and healthier) option!

Hi everyone! With the move progressing, I'm planning an entire series on building a rabbitry from start to finish. With that being said, which video would you like to see next. And if you haven't already check out the Patreon (link in channel description), where you can suggest topics, chat with me, and much more!
Thanks!

Hey Guys! I wanted to announce that we are launching a Patreon! Next weeks video is up on Patreon for early, ad-free access. Next weeks video is already up for early access.

I originally started the YouTube channel to answer some basic questions that I frequently got from customers, and for several years that was it. Thanks to the support and encouragement from all of you, the channel has grown far beyond that humble beginning.
While the rabbitry is self sustaining, the channel is not. My original videos were never made to receive thousands of views, and trying to produce useful, high quality content takes a HUGE amount of time and resources. That being said, I love making the videos and interacting with everyone, and I want to make the channel sustainable. This is where Patreon comes in.
YouTube's ad revenue is very inconsistent, and some of my more useful videos (ex. processing rabbits) get demonetized. By contributing on Patreon, you are helping me make more, and better quality videos. But there's something in it for you as well!
Benefits of being a patron:
1. You'll get early access to videos, and exclusive content. I'll post short articles, how to's, and other content on Patreon that won't be available anywhere else. You'll also get to help decide what direction the channel goes in and how it evolves.
2. I get a lot of comments and questions every day. By being a patron, I'll be able to answer your questions, and you'll be able to interact with a like minded community.
3. At the higher tiers, you'll get access to things like my custom cage plans, detailed how to's, occasional rabbit swag, and private video/phone calls with me to discuss anything you like! (we're launching higher tiers this summer).
4. You'll be helping reliable information about meat rabbits spread. Unfortunately there's a lot of bad, misleading, or straight up wrong content about meat rabbits on the internet. By helping the channel grow, you'll be helping thousands of people find good information on how to produce their own meat sustainably!
I never thought West Meadow Rabbits or the channel would come this far, and I'm so excited to see where we'll go with your support. Just know that your support means the world to me, and that I wouldn't be here without you.
Thank you!
Sam

Hey guys, sorry for not posting in awhile! New video coming out on building vs buying cages.
I am thinking of adding an online store to my website where I would sell cages and supplies. I'm curious if that would be something you guys were interested in?
Specifically30"x36"x24" cages with 14 gauge galvanized after weld wire. (if you don't know what that means I will explain in the video).
I want your opinion on pricing, and please be honest so I can plan correctly!
Would you buy if this cage cost 100 including shipping? There would probably be discounts for more than one. They would be shipped flat and would need to be assembled. I will make a video on how to do that.

Hello everyone! Its in the single digits again this week so I will probably be filming another discussion video inside. I'm going to experiment with more editing we'll see how it goes.
What topic do you guys want me to cover next?

Building resilience, sustainable meat, and sovereign individuals one rabbit at a time!
Rabbit meat is nutrient dense, sustainable, and easy to grow on a small scale. West Meadow Rabbits is here to help you understand everything that goes into producing meat rabbits, and how you can get started with them.
Meat rabbits are the solution to many of the problems facing us today. I believe that they can even change the world. I professionally breed New Zealand Red rabbits with the goal of producing animals that look great, and produce meat efficiently to help make this a reality. The content on this channel is based on my years of experience and has the beginner in mind. There are many ways to do things, but my goal is to ensure your success.
Please explore the channel and if you have any questions, ideas, comments or requests, let me know!
