Haven’t studied in years? You’re not the only one.

Many of the engineers we’ve helped pass the FE exam started out feeling overwhelmed, unsure, or even defeated.
Some hadn’t studied in over a decade. Others had failed before. A lot of them were juggling work, life, and doubt.

But here’s the thing: they still passed.

With the right support, a clear plan, and a system that actually works — they did it. And you can too.
We’ve helped over 2,000 engineers earn their E.I.T., and your story could be next.

Diving back into FE Other Disciplines- Day 13

You might not hear from me for the next few days—my mom is visiting us from Morocco, and she loves exploring different places in the U.S. 🇲🇦✈️ So, my husband and I decided to surprise her with a small trip!

After losing my dad three years ago, I’ve learned to truly live in the moment and spend as much time as I can with the people I love. Since I don’t get to see my mom often, I want to make it count and create special memories with her.

I know how important the FE exam is for you all, but here’s something to remember—one day, you will pass it. But in the process, don’t forget about the people who support and believe in you.Time with loved ones is something you can’t get back. 💙

I’m also incredibly grateful for my amazing team, who make it possible for me to take time off, knowing that our students and business are in good hands. 🙌

Before leaving, I made sure to write down exactly where I left off and planned out my first two days back—this way, I can jump right into work without feeling lost.

If you're ever stepping away from studying or work, I highly recommend doing this! It makes a huge difference.

See you all soon! And if you’re studying, don’t forget to take care of yourself and the people who matter most. ❤️

Diving back into FE Other Disciplines- Day 12

I’m officially done with the Safety, Health, and Environment concepts for the FE Other Disciplines course! ✅

But there’s still a lot more to do before students get access to the final course:

🔹 Designing visuals – Waiting on the design team to create diagrams and charts to make concepts more engaging and easier to remember.

🔹 Reviewing content – @Praneetha is going through everything to ensure clarity and that I didn’t go too deep (which I tend to do, especially with topics I love… like Chemistry! 😂). You guys are going to love Chemistry, I promise!

🔹 Creating practice problems – This is crucial! We need to make sure the problems are tailored to the FE exam so you get exactly what you need to pass.

🔹 Filming all the lessons 🎥

🔹 Video editing – Our amazing editor will make sure everything looks great and sounds perfect.

🔹 Final quality check – @Praneetha watches all videos to **catch any errors or glitches before uploading.

🔹 Uploading & student access! 🎉

This process takes a team effort, and I’m so grateful for the Genie Prep team for helping make this happen and for allowing us to help as many future engineers as possible!

💡 If you’re studying for the FE Exam, know that we’ve got your back every step of the way! 🚀

Diving back into FE Other Disciplines - Day 11

I’ve noticed something while working on the Safety, Health & Environment section for the FE Other Disciplines course:

✅ When a subtopic is short and simple, it’s easy to stay motivated and get it done quickly. For example, Basic Safety Equipment was a straightforward topic—I focused for an hour and finished it.

⚠️ But when a topic is long and packed with information, like Industrial Hygiene, it can feel never-ending—so many concepts, tables, charts, and equations to go through.

And then, there’s the real challenge:

📌 A topic that’s BOTH long and difficult to process.

Even though Industrial Hygiene was long, it wasn’t too hard to understand. But if you’re studying Thermodynamics or Structural Engineering, you know how much mental energy it takes to truly process and retain the material.

💡 This is why motivation alone isn’t enough.

Some days, you just won’t feel like studying. That’s why discipline is what keeps you going!

🔹 Don’t focus just on the goal—instead, create a system and a study plan that keeps you consistent, even when motivation fades.

Stay disciplined, stay consistent, and trust the process! 💪📚

Diving back into FE Other Disciplines - Day 10

As some of you know, since last week, I’ve been working on the Safety, Health, and Environment section for the FE Other Disciplines course, and I’m actually close to finishing it!

This is one of the easier topics in the FE Other Disciplines, so if you don’t have a course, here’s how you can study for it on your own and still be able to answer most of the questions on the exam:

✅ Check the FE Exam Specifications to see what’s covered.
✅ Go through the NCEES Reference Handbook, but be aware—the way equations and concepts are presented doesn’t always match the order in the specifications.

Here’s what I do every time I start a new topic:

🔹 First, I get familiar with the keywords used in the specifications and book.
🔹 Then, I check the Reference Handbook for any equations, concepts, or tables related to that topic.

⚠️One more thing: I don’t recommend studying the topics exactly in the order they’re listed in the specifications.

Here’s the order given in the FE Other Disciplines:

- Industrial hygiene
- Basic safety equipment
- Gas detection and monitoring
- Electrical safety
- Confined space entry & ventilation rates
- Hazard communication

🚀 My Recommendation for Studying This Section Efficiently:

➡️ Cover Confined Space Entry & Ventilation after Gas Detection & Monitoring because these topics are closely related.
➡️ Then, move on to Electrical Safety. This structure makes the topics flow better.

📌 For Hazard Communication, start with GHS (Globally Harmonized System) before diving into SDS (Safety Data Sheets). Understanding GHS first will make it much easier to interpret the SDS sections.

Hope this helps! If you’re studying for the FE Other Disciplines, let me know in the comments! 🚀👨‍🎓👩‍🎓

🗓️ Diving back into FE Other Disciplines - Day 9

This morning, I wasn’t excited about the next topic. It’s something I’m not very familiar with, meaning it would require extra focus and effort. I knew it was going to be challenging. 📖

But you know what I did? I woke up at the same time I always do—5 AM—I showed up, pushed through, and guess what? The topic wasn’t as bad as I thought. Yes, it had a lot of technical terms, but I got through it.

Here’s what to keep in mind when preparing for your FE or PE exam:

✅ Show up even when you don’t feel like it.
✅ Sometimes the subject isn’t as hard as you think, but you’ll never know until you try.
✅ Resting is part of the process.

Yesterday, I took a break, and I’m glad I did because it gave me the energy to show up and study today! 💪🏻

I recently came across a quote that really resonated with me:

"You can’t be motivated every day, but you need to be disciplined."

Discipline is what keeps you going when motivation fades. So, when you don’t feel like studying—remember this!

Was this week productive for you? Which challenges did you face? 👇💬

Diving back into the FE Other Disciplines - Day 8

These last two days have been super productive—I’ve gotten so much done, and I’m really close to finishing the Health, Safety, and Environment section for the FE Other Disciplines course. 📖

But today? I hit a wall.

I usually try to get more work done when my daughter naps, but during her nap, I was reading… and I had no idea what I was even looking at.

My brain just wasn’t processing anything. So I forced myself to take a break.

Now, here’s the thing about breaks:

✅ Be aware that you’re taking a break—don’t just drift into one.
✅ Be intentional about how you spend it.

Some things help you recharge—like going for a walk, spending time with family, meditating, or even taking a nap.

But other things, like endlessly scrolling through social media or watching short-form videos, can drain your dopamine and make it even harder to refocus.

The reason I needed that break?

Honestly, structuring this course takes a lot of deep thinking. The FE Reference Handbook and specifications aren’t exactly the most organized, So I have to figure out the best way to introduce topics and structure sections in a way that actually makes sense. And that takes time—and brainpower.

But that’s all part of the process.

Some days, everything flows. Other days, you need a break. And that’s okay. 🚀
