So I don't find the Road to Ninja tie in manga chapter too important to the movie. But am I missing something? Did it explain some things in the movie?

So shortly before the Naruto manga ended, I was watching and keeping up with the anime. But after the ending came out, I stopped because I just said “I don’t care to see the rest of this animated.”
