This cup takes place once a year in the Congolese jungle (where I come from. My grandfather, a banana exporter in the Congo, came to settle in France in 1931...).
Every year, this very important competition brings together all species of monkeys from all over the world. In 1994, I participated in the cup for the fourth time. In previous years, I had been eliminated in the first rounds, but that year, I was really in great shape and I came first in the four events:
- Baobab climbing on rollerblades
- Capture of antelope in rollerblades
- River jump on a skate board
- Descent of rapids by windsurfing
After four days of hard tests (the level was really very high that year!), I reached the top of the podium and received the golden banana from the hands of Jane (Tarzan's wife) in person. I prefer to tell you that I remembered this day for a long time funkies...”
