Change - it is difficult and scary and exciting and all things wrapped up into one. Part of that change, for me, is how EJM Instrumentals moves forward. For the last six years I have turned a hobby into a partnership with universities, arts organizations, professional theaters, recording artists, and even Broadway stars. As many of you know, I had a recent and severe change - that word, again - to my health back in February. I was diagnosed with a pretty aggressive autoimmune disease that will be my sidekick from now on. With that has come long hospital stays, lots of time to think, and tough decisions - but also a chance to start fresh in a new career (starting on Monday 🙏🏼) that will help me stay healthy.
As of today, EJM Instrumentals is going back to what it used to be all those years ago - a hobby. My website is in the process of taking down listings and removing full show instrumentals from the catalog for purchase. I will no longer be taking on custom track orders and no longer selling individual instrumental MP3s. My Patreon, which some of you still contributed to for these last few years, has also been unpublished and will no longer accept monthly payments.
What does this mean for YouTube? Well, my hope is to keep providing free, high quality instrumentals for you all. However, they just might not be as frequent as they have been. I have a backlog of ones I'm excited to post, but as a reminder I am no longer selling the higher-quality mp3s or wav files. If I can figure out a good storage site, perhaps I'll make them available in the descriptions - we'll see!
To my regular partners via email, I'll be in touch soon. Many of you still have pending projects with me and I'm excited to get those done - we may just be switching over to Pro bono and a bit more of a selective process.
Until then, on the front page of my channel, I have other instrumental creators listed who do amazing work and you should check out their videos immediately! I hope to have new instrumentals around the holiday season.
Change is good and necessary. Sometimes it is forced upon us, but it's all about what we do with it.
