A quick breakdown of tonight's meeting: there was an interesting twist when the Stewart's resolution was brought up it was failed to be introduced and became a dead issue killing the ordinance change. The people showed up to oppose Stewart's. And all five kept quiet when asked to introduce. Basically telling Stewart's to f off. The Stewart's guy showed site maps showing that most of the property was already zoned for them and it was just a small piece that they were asking. That leads me to believe that Stewart's might be able to still build anyways.
The biggest story would be at the very end when mayor Jeff Smith asked the Watertown Police department and detective Donahue to investigate Cliffs Olney's allegations of corruption with framing him for his many DWIs from nearly 25 years ago. The mayor asked this to be investigated because he believed that these allegations should be investigated because Cliff went on the hotline with Jeff Graham and made these allegations public. Cliff claims that he didn't have any sip of alcohol during any of his arrests for DWI.
Lastly I didn't see the lawyer Mr sly at the meeting. There is a woman who was sitting in his chair. Did Cliff get his way with getting rid of the City lawyer? I'm not sure, does she work for Mr Sly or is she the replacement?
