The 11 GUYS QUARTET: Paul Lenart (guitar), Bill Mather (bass), Chuck Purro (drums), and Richard Rosenblatt (harmonica) got together in the early 1980s as the 11th Hour Band â played some great rockinâ blues, hit the Boston area clubs and had some wild times. They released âHot Time In The City Tonightâ (1985), the first album on the fledgling Tone-Cool Records imprint, and played together off and on for the next few decades.
Around 2008 they recorded some original instrumentals, which they eventually released January, 2020 as â11 GUYS QUARTET - SMALL BLUES AND GROOVESâ on the VizzTone label. No one was more surprised than they were to see the album climb the blues radio charts and be hailed internationally as âmasterful, understated and just plain cool.â
During pandemic isolation, the Guys began recording again, so far releasing âThe Rona Stomp.â âLightning Road,â âPossum Bluesâ and âDriving A Fast Car,â as audio singles accompanied by highly creative videos.
