HAPPY FRIDAY YA'LL!!
I have had so many people ask in the past what mill I use for my dried corn and wheat berries. I fell in LOVE with the Wondermill many years ago. After lots of use and abuse, it still works like it did the first day. I just uploaded my newest video and linked it in the description box as well. It is currently $100 OFF!! I bought it at full price and I wish I had bought it during a sale like this. Just wanted to share the link and sale so you don't miss out if you've been contemplating investing in one!

Happy Wednesday!! I'm bringing in a harvest of romas and peppers from the greenhouse! Almost filled two 13 quart bowls. It's time to can some salsa!! I think my favorite recipe is the zesty salsa in the Ball book. What are some of your favorite types of salsa to make, if you can?

Happy Thursday! What a month so far! This time of year is the busiest for us, and the days are just flying by. There's SO much that has been going on. I have not found any time where I'm not busy doing something. Besides wrapping up projects before the snow and canning a TON, we have had an eventful past couple of weeks. Since the middle of August, we've had 4 birthdays. Mike and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary. We also went to Cheyenne Wyoming last weekend for the first time and took the kids out for some fun. We've had a lot of exciting things going on here, and I will have a video up soon!
Today has been a busy day! We got up extra early to get school out of the way because we have electricians here all day doing some work. I bottled up our honey harvest from one hive, and we STILL have some frames in that hive that are almost fully capped, and we will be able to harvest another batch. So far, we have 15 quarts, 10 honey bears, and a little honey pot filled. We also were in complete shock to find two litters of bunnies from our rabbits this morning!! I'll explain that one in an update video, and it'll make more sense. Some of them were already old enough and were hopping around. I haven't even been in the greenhouse for over a week. That's how busy we've been. I'm sure there's a lot that has to be harvested right now. What have you guys been up to? Are there any fun plans you have this fall or projects you're trying to get done before the cold weather starts? Our mornings have been hitting high 30s, low 40s already!! See you soon!!!

Happy Monday! The sky looks so cool as Im leaving the gym. I've been in debate to even post the videos I made because they were during our evacuation and aren't recent anymore. I had two of them to post. I will be able to start up videos again this week as I have finally found a rhythm for our school days while still having time for housework, caring for our animals, cooking and 2 hours at the gym each day. I can't wait to make content again! If I do decide to post the two videos I've already made and edited, I will mark in the title when they were recorded so you know it's not new as the fire is now thankfully 100% "contained" but contained does not mean the same as extinguished. Can not wait to upload this week. I miss it! See you soon!! 😊🩷

Happy Thursday! It's been a while. I've made three videos in the last two weeks but have had little time to edit and upload. Youtube has gone down a notch in my priorities for the moment. I am trying to readjust and get into a new routine. Our twins turned 6 on the 10th, and we have a party for them this Saturday that I am busy planning for. I have had to dedicate more time to my kids and family and home as I have been gone each day working out. We started school this Monday. All 8 kids are officially school-aged! That in itself is an adjustment. We are using some new curriculums, so it's been a few days of trying to figure everything out. This week is officially 4 weeks since I started weight lifting. I have lost 12 pounds. I have lost inches off multiple areas of my body. It feels good going from 5-10 pound dumbells up to 60-80 pounds for some things. Consistency has always been a flaw of mine. I have been at the gym every day and have had to learn how to carve two hours out of my day each day to dedicate to working out. So, our homeschool schedule looks more different than it ever has. A lot does, and that is what I am trying to learn to adapt to as I have SO many responsibilities and others depending on me. Learning to cook differently for a family of 10 has been a challenge. I'm hoping to get a video up soon! Have a great week!

There is no place like HOME! Praising God that we went from mandatory to all clear today. I know this fire still has the potential to change that, but I know that God is bigger than all this, and I trust that we will be okay. I am so thankful for all the firefighters and crews who are working so hard on this to gain containment and to keep homes safe. It's a little too soon to bring the livestock back because things can change. The fire is close by, and that was a 12 hour ordeal making trips to move them all. I do have a video coming out showing all the fire mitigation efforts we made on our home. The property looks a bit bare now, but it was necessary to be sure we had as little fuel as possible on our homestead. Thank you all so much for the prayers and positive thoughts!! ❤️

We have not had rain in so long, and we just had a good amount of rainfall! I checked the radar, and where the fire is on Storm Mountain, the whole area was getting rained on! Praise God!! The sun is cutting through the smoke for the first time in days. The smoke has been so heavy and thick. The rain reduced the concentration of the smoke and for the moment the air is clean and we can see all the hills again! Even though it'll be temporary, we need every little bit of moisture we can get on this fire!

Ready or not, here it comes. The fire is coming, and we are directly in its path. The winds are currently blowing it at us. With the size of it at this point, I think we will be in the path regardless. Praising God that as a firefighter, I can still go into mandatory areas. Mike was able to come with me and some of his guys. Last attempt to save our homestead. Chainsaws have been running, and trees are getting cut down. Mike is excavating a fire line. The smoke is so thick, and though our windows are shut, the house has smoke in it. I'm not sure how quickly it will be before this fire is at our door. I will try to keep posting updates. When I have the time to stop and upload, I have some video footage to put out. I appreciate you guys so much and all the prayers and well wishes. We truly need them, and so many people need them as well. 24 homes burned on Storm mountain, and it's still burning through up there at this moment. I'm almost certain there will be many more homes lost to this fire.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
"In every situation (no matter what the circumstances), be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus."

Psalm 34
" I will praise the Lord no matter what happens. I will constantly speak of His glories and grace."

God's grace is enough to sustain us in any situation. 🙏

Happy 1st Day of August! Usually, we would be starting to put up fall decorations in the home this week (I know, that's how I am though) and giving it that cozy feeling. We would be getting things prepared for school. Our twins' birthdays are in a few days, and we were looking forward to having their first birthday party at home for them. The greenhouse was producing and close to being able to start harvesting for the first time. Now, all irrigation and water have been shut off, so if they cut power and it turns back on, the pump won't burn up and start a fire.

Homes have been lost in the area. The winds were not in our favor.

I am thanking God for the little things and big things and trying to stay positive. Every single animal, except our bees, has been safely evacuated and temporarily has a safe place. Our rabbits are loose in a stall, so I'm praying they dont burrow out - or have babies, but I guess thats the least of my worries right now. The animals are spread out everywhere, so caring for them takes time, but right now, they are okay. Our kids are safe, and we are. I'm so thankful for our community, and the place we usually board our animals has offered to take in our 4 dogs and 4 cats for us, so we can focus on other things. I'm so thankful I've had Aspen our LGD puppy exposed and around our indoor dogs because now they have to be boarded together and share a kennel, and at least they know each other.

I heard last night that this whole wild fire thing could take weeks or months and it makes me sick to think about it. After the Cameron Peak fire in 2020 and being evacuated for weeks and weeks with no financial savings in place for an emergency like that, Mike and I bought a fifth wheel. It was really a fear of mine to have to evacuate again and have nowhere to go with our kids. It was a horrible feeling because, as parents, our children depend on us for shelter, safety, and food. It's been such a monthly cost for it to just sit at my husbands trailer yard for the past three years. Many times, he has wanted to sell it because, truthfully, we just can't get away often enough to make it worth the monthly cost. We try to go somewhere with the kids at least two or three times during the summers. My husbands work and our animals make get aways even more challenging. I'm so thankful we decided against selling it because things would be really difficult right now if we did not have it.

I know this update has turned into a book, I just don't have the time right now to make a video update. My day will be sorting out bags and bags of my kids clothes, stopping by our home if im allowed to to turn the water on and give the greenhouse a quick soak and then going to the fire station to see what plans we have in place. Enjoy your week and thank you all so much. I haven't had much time to reply to comments, but I've seen them come through on my watch amongst all the back and forth driving the past two days and they make my heart smile each time I see one pop up. I appreciate you guys so much!! ❤️

On a side note, the officers let Mike and the guys that work with him go back to the house with me (only firefighters are allowed in mandatory areas) and he brought an enclosed trailer and we were able to take all the fridges and freezers out from our garage so we could plug them in at his trailer yard in town) They were stocked with multiple cows from a local ranch as well as other meats. Now, there won't be a huge, gut-wrenching waste of meats during a power cut, and we have meats to cook in the fifth wheeler to feed us!! I am so thankful for that 🙏🙌❤️
