🌿 Renewing Your Mind: A Biblical Counselor’s Perspective on Romans 12:2 🌿

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” – Romans 12:2 (ESV)

🌱 Stop Conforming to the World
The world will always try to shape you according to its values, desires, and standards. This can look like chasing status, self-help ideologies, emotional decision-making, and false teachings that twist Scripture. But as biblical counselors, we don’t lean on the world’s methods — we lean on God’s Word. True transformation is not about “self-improvement” but Christ-like renewal.

🛠️ In what ways are you being influenced by worldly thinking? Are you seeking validation from culture or from Christ?

🌱 Transformation Comes Through the Mind
Transformation doesn’t happen just by changing your habits or behavior; it starts with your mind. The Holy Spirit uses God’s Word to renew our thoughts, reshape our desires, and align our will with His. The goal is not mere behavior change but a heart and mind change that leads to godly living. This is where biblical counseling focuses — on renewing the mind with truth, not opinions.

🛠️ Are you reading and meditating on God’s Word daily? What false beliefs are you holding on to that need to be replaced with biblical truth?

🌱 Discernment Requires Renewal
Once your mind is renewed, you can better discern the will of God. It’s not about guessing or relying on signs — it’s about knowing God’s revealed will through His Word. With a renewed mind, you’ll be able to recognize what is “good, acceptable, and perfect” in God’s eyes. This clarity doesn’t come from feelings but from faith grounded in Scripture.

🛠️When you’re unsure about a decision, do you seek Scripture or feelings for guidance? Are you testing everything against the Word of God?

🙌
If you’re feeling stuck in worldly thinking, struggling to see clearly, or wrestling with decisions, it’s time to renew your mind. It’s not a one-time event; it’s a daily commitment to die to self and live for Christ. Biblical counseling can help you walk through this renewal process, step-by-step, with the Word of God as our guide.

📖 Start with 10 minutes a day meditating on one Scripture and write down how you can align your thoughts with God’s truth. Start with Romans 12:2.

💬
What areas of your life do you feel need “mind renewal” today? Drop it in the comments, and I’ll walk with you through it.

🎉 Celebrating 49 Years of God's Grace and Growth

Today, as I reflect on my journey, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. These 49 years of life have been marked by immense change, learning, and above all, God's unfailing grace and mercy. This past year has been particularly challenging, filled with growth that often felt uncomfortable and overwhelming. Yet, through every moment of stress, I've seen God's perfect timing unfold in my life.

I'm incredibly grateful for another year of sobriety—5 years and almost 9 months now. It hasn't been easy, but God has been my anchor through it all. Running a business has brought so much joy, yet it’s also been one of the most difficult parts of my life. Despite the challenges, I am deeply thankful for all the amazing women who have been a part of Life Anchor Center. Their dedication and efforts have borne so much fruit, and I’m honored to walk alongside them.

I am beyond grateful for my husband, whose willingness and commitment continue to be a blessing in my life. And then there's my grandson, Thiago—being a grandma to him has shown me a whole new dimension of love and relationship. He’s taught me what it truly means to be a grandmother, and for that, I am so thankful.

Reflecting on my relationship with my own children, I see the years of struggle and distance, but I also see how they've grown into amazing people with their own lives. I’m thankful for the opportunity to witness their journeys and to be a part of their lives again.

This year, I've learned so much about forgiveness—both towards others and myself. It's been a long journey, and I’m still learning and growing. But I know that I am changing, and it’s all by God's grace and mercy.

Thank you, Lord, for these 49 years. I’m humbled and excited to see what the next chapter holds. 🕊️
