Originally from Austin Texas, Dave was an early supporter and musician in the Beijing punk rock and Chinese alternative music scene. Living in Beijing from 1995 to 2003, back and forth since then, he has documented and played in some of the biggest underground bands in Beijing.
Here you will see early Chinese underground bands like Underbaby, Catcher in the Rye, XinKuzi (New Pants), Shouren (Thinman), Zi Yue, Luo Qi, Cui Jian, Cobra, Brain Failure, 69, Anarchy jerks, Reflector, PK14 and many other "first shows" from these influential bands unseen anywhere else.
This is the only source for the earliest Chinese punk video material captured on DV and old Hi-8 tapes. Please subscribe if you'd like to receive more videos as they become available. If you need raw files for doco's, please get in touch with Dave and he can make copies.
