I started this channel to talk about Mormonism and Gnosticism. That seemed easy enough, but after making a few videos I realized my views on Joseph Smith and what happened with the Book of Mormon bears no resemblance to what the Latter-day Saint Church teaches. Or any other Mormon group I know of.

My family placed a strong emphasis on personal revelation. When the prophets and Church leaders said something, I would search the scriptures, fast and pray, and find my own answer. Many times those answers did not match what the Latter-day Saint Church was teaching.

That's ok because I am a syncretist, a cafeteria Mormon. I look for the truth wherever I can find it and that includes outside of the Latter-day Saint Church. The mish-mash religion I've created for myself is interesting and I'm excited to find out more about it on this channel. You might enjoy coming along on the ride.
