We take pre-workout before our training sessions. Its purpose is to help us recover and ease the fatigue of an intense workout.
Keeping that in mind, these are the ingredients I'm looking for when choosing my pre-workout. 💥
6-9 GRAMS of L-Citrulline - helps open up veins and arteries to improve blood flow and reduce blood pressure. Increased blood flow allows nutrients and oxygen to get to your muscle faster, making your workout more efficient. 🩸
300-350 MG of Caffeine - gives you an energy boost that you can use for both endurance training and HIIT workouts. It can help enhance your power and strength, and may even help reduce soreness. 🤯
5 GRAMS Creatine - helps boost your strength, helps muscles recover more quickly, and increases lean muscle mass. 💪

Creatine supplements can increase the water content of your muscles. This is known as cell volumization and can quickly increase muscle size. 💪 Creatine’s direct role in ATP production means it can drastically improve high-intensity exercise performance. 💥 Taking it for as few as 5–7 days has been shown to significantly increase lean body weight and muscle size. 🔪 In one study of a 6-week training regimen, participants who used creatine added 4.4 pounds (2 kg) more muscle mass, on average, than the control group. 🗿
Personally, I take 5 grams of creatine with my pre-workout right before my training session. This helps me remember to take it and I personally feel like it gives some extra endurance during my workouts. I use creatine monohydrate from Thorne labs because I think their products are high quality and not over-hyped with a huge price tag.
