Hi, I`m Lowell, a 69-year-old rookie sailor and a never-too-later! I had an aspiration to sail across an ocean solo before I die. I am a Canadian living in Japan, and in 2019, I purchased Wahine, a 1988 Gib Sea 402. I moved on board while she was moored in Tokyo. In March 2021, I terminated my contract with the Marina and have been living and slowly making my way around Japan, gaining valuable experience while working remotely from the boat. Wahine is my home, my studio, and my life laboratory. Because of various reasons explained in multiple videos, I have had to abandon my goal of crossing the Pacific before I am 70. Instead, I will complete a loop around Japan to celebrate turning 70 next year. But first, some boat projects.
