BEWARE OF THE "SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN"
The term "Synagogue of Satan" is a term which the Lord Jesus Christ used twice in the book of Revelation, and it is something that we need to be aware of. The Lord did not hesitate to associate false believers with our adversary Satan, and therefore the true minister of Jesus Christ should not hold back that same truth to please any group of people. It is very important also that you notice the Lord used that term when he addressed certain churches in the book of Revelation. In the first instance the Lord was speaking to the church at Smyrna:
And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive; I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. (Revelation 2:8-10)
First, the Lord brings great comfort to the true Christians that were part of the church at Smyrna. Jesus let them know that he is the "first and the last" which is speaking of the deity of Christ. (Isaiah 44:6) the same one who was dead but was now alive. The true Christian is blessed in knowing that the very same Jesus Christ who died, rose again, and ascended into heaven is now alive forevermore, and that he was the same "first and last" which the prophet Isaiah spoke about. (Revelation 1:17-18, 2:8)
The Lord Jesus Christ who was addressing the church at Smyrna, was letting the true Christians know that He was aware of their problems, and the trouble that the devil was bringing their way. He was aware of their physical poverty, but He also told them that they were "rich" (spiritually) which was the only thing that was of eternal importance. Then the Lord told them that He knew about the "blasphemy" of those who declared that they were "Jewsâ, but they were not. Now, first, you must realize that the Lord takes blasphemy very seriously and that is why he brings this up. Blasphemy is a railing against God himself and it is a very denial of Him. In this instance the Lord declared that there was a group of people, who claimed to be "Jews," but they were not! They were obviously attempting to convince the true Christians that they also were "true Jewsâ, but they were lying. The Lord was flat out calling these people Satan's children, something which He had also done when He walked this Earth! (John 8:44) The Jewish apostle Paul made it clear that the only "true Jews" were those who had been spiritually changed in their heart! (see 2 Corinthians 5:17)
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. (Romans 2:28-29)
Now even though the Lord used this term to describe the "false Jews" at the church of Smyrna, it also applies to the people today, who claim to be Christians, but they are not! The term Synagogue is often associated with the Jewish people, but it is a meeting place where people gather and can apply to others also. The "Synagogue of Satan" is an "unseen spiritual Synagogue" which is made up of false professors of Christ. They do not serve the true Lord Jesus Christ, and they have never been born again of the Spirit of God! We can see the influence in our modern day with different groups of people such as the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Mormons, and the Roman Catholics who claim that they are Christians, but bring doctrines that are totally contrary to Christ! It is most sad and unfortunate that we are living in a day where such false religious systems are even called Christian by the mainstream media "leaders." but that is just how the "Synagogue of Satan" operates! They are disguised as the Lord's ministers, but they are not His at all! They learn and know the "Christian lingoâ, but they do not belong to the Lord! There are also millions of false professors which sit in "Protestant" and "Evangelical" churches, and many who preach in their pulpits also, who are part of this "Synagogue of Satan". The same Lord Jesus Christ told us that the wheat and the tares grow together! (Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43) The "Synagogue of Satan" is truly a very large "unseen spiritual Synagogue!"
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)
We can also see the influence of the "Synagogue of Satan" in the "Christian Zionism" movement with their false teachings concerning the Abrahamic Covenant, a covenant which was fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Instead of telling the unsaved Jewish people that they need to "repent and believe the Gospel" (Mark 1:15) because the "wrath of God" is upon them (John 3:36), they have twisted it all around and they tell the true Christians that they will be cursed if they do not bless Israel! Instead of having the Holy Ghost boldness to tell the unsaved Jewish people that they will die in their sins, without faith in Jesus Christ, (John 8:24) they twist the simplest teachings in the Bible! If Jesus Christ told the Jews that they would die in their sins without faith in him, then they WILL die in their sins without faith in him!
When ministers twist the truth so as not to offend people, then they are being deceitful, and that kind of compromise is birthed in the "Synagogue of Satan." That should be a wake-up call for the millions who have learned their ways! Should the truth about eternal damnation in Hell be held back from any group of people? I think not, and a true Christian who claims to have a love for lost souls will not hold back that truth from the unsaved. If a person does hold back those truths to pacify his fellow man, then they must search their own heart (as Paul did) to see if they are truly a servant of Jesus Christ!
For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10)
The next time that we see the Lord use the term "Synagogue of Satan" is when he speaks to the church at Philadelphia
And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. (Revelation 3:7-9)
In the passage above the Lord is basically saying the same thing in His warning about the "false Jews." The Lord describes Himself as "holy and true" and He then commends the church for being faithful to His Word, and for their not denying His name. That is what the Lord expects from all His own true people, which includes all true Jewish and Gentile believers in Jesus Christ. If a Christian is digging into the scriptures (God's Word) and holding fast to the Lord, then they are truly in good hands. Those of the "Synagogue of Satan" will one day see, that the true Christians were serving the one true and faithful God. I will admit that it can be frustrating to observe and watch what is happening in the modern day "churchâ, but I also know that my God is a "faithful and true God" and a God who does not change!

I love putting up articles such as this one because I know (from experience) that few people ever take the time to search out the doctrines of Rome, and what they truly teach and believe. In the modern-day church if you can say âI love Jesusâ then you are in, no matter what others may say. You can also teach your parrot or parakeet to say âI love Jesusâ if you so desire. The Pope also declares that he loves Jesus, but the only problem is, that the gospel of Rome, of which the Pope is the head, preaches a different gospel than the one which Jesus Christ proclaimed.
The modern-day ecumenical movement, (false unity movement) kind of reminds me of a scene from the âThe Wizard of Ozâ movie. Do you remember the part, where the little dog Toto pulled the curtain back, to reveal the âWizardâ inside pulling the levers? The Wizard was deceiving all the people, giving off the impression that he was someone big and powerful, but he was not. The modern-day church with its multimedia âgospelâ stations, the humongous crusades, and everything else gives off the impression something BIG is happening.
This must be JESUS is the cry, but it is nothing but smokescreens. Satan, the father of lies, is the one pulling the levers, and sending out the smokescreens, and deceiving precious souls. The devil is singing right along with all the rest, keeping them distracted, watching carefully, lest someone attempt to pull back the curtain, and expose this whole charade! The Holy Spirit, anointing the Godâs Word, is the only one who can pull the curtain back, and expose the fakers and the compromisers inside.
The Devil will say:
âPay no attention to the ecumenical Pastor man/woman behind the curtain, with his false doctrines, canât you see that he loves Jesus.â
âPay no attention to that Priest on the altar, canât you see that he loves Jesus too!â
âMore smoke and more fog please, enlarge the image, raise the volume, increase the FIRE. Thatâs it REVIVAL has arrived! Do you see the love? Pay no attention to the false doctrines, my brother, my sister, God is truly moving here! Itâs showtime folks!â
But I fear, lest by any means, as the SERPENTÂ beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be CORRUPTEDÂ from the simplicity that is in Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:1-3)

SPIRITUAL BREAD FOR TODAY - THE JEWISH CHIEF PRIESTS AND THEIR BRIBERY AFTER CHRIST ROSE FROM THE DEAD!
âAnd the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me. Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done. And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you. So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.â (Matthew 28:5-15)
It is an awesome truth to know that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ rose from the dead just as he said he would many times before. There was great joy among the women when the angel of the Lord told them that he was not there in the tomb but that he was risen. He also told them to go tell his disciples that Jesus had risen from the dead. Prior to all this the Jewish chief priests and the Pharisees went to Pilate (the Governor) and told him that this deceiver (meaning Jesus) when he was alive said that after three days he would rise again. So, Pilate granted their request and granted them a watch (a group of men) to guard and to seal the tomb and to make it sure. They did this because they thought the disciples of Jesus might " . . . steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead" (Matthew 27:62-66) The one thing that the unbelieving Jews forgot though was that God knew all things and there was nothing that could keep Jesus Christ from being raised from the dead. The angel of the Lord descended from Heaven with a great earthquake, rolled back the stone that sealed the tomb and then he sat upon it! (How cool is that?) The countenance of the angel was like lightning and his clothing as white as snow and " . . . for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men." The men who were sent by Pilate were terrified when they saw the angel and when they saw the stone rolled back from the entrance to the tomb. So, what did they do? Did they get on their knees and ask God for mercy and confess to him that they were wrong in their beliefs about Jesus? Nope. They ran back to the Jewish chief priests and the elders and told them everything that happened. The Jewish chief priests were backed into a corner with this one so they had a choice to make. They could either repent and believe the true gospel of Jesus Christ or they could lie. They chose to lie, and they bribed the men who were guarding the tomb with a large sum of money and told them to say that the disciples of Jesus stole the body away after you fell asleep. The Jewish chief priests promised the men that they would cover up for them if there were any problems. So those men took the money and did what the Jewish chief priests told them to do. (Matthew 28:11-15) When evil is at work in the hearts of men it has no bounds, and all of this was seen by Almighty God himself. All of them including the Jewish chief priests, the elders, and the guards had an opportunity to be saved but they rejected that opportunity and clung to their counterfeit religion. There are literally billions in the world today who are still holding on to their counterfeit religion are are on the brink of forfeiting their souls into an eternal Hell.

SPIRITUAL BREAD FOR TODAY - CHRIST ROSE AS A MAN IN A BODY OF FLESH AND BONES
âAnd as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet. And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat? And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them. And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.â (Luke 24:36-44)
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is a very powerful testimony that he conquered sin and death and he did that for us. (1 Peter 3:18, Romans 5:6-10) You must remember that the disciples of Christ were still in a state of shock because their Lord was crucified only days before. So their reaction to seeing the risen Christ appear before them was enough to terrify and frighten anybody. The Lord could see that they were troubled and he knew what they were thinking. So he showed them the wounds from his nail pierced hands and feet (Psalm 22:16) and invited them to touch and handle him to prove to them that he was not a spirit (a ghost). He took it even further and asked them for something to eat and he ate the food that they gave to him. There is a reason that the Lord did this because he wanted them to know that the same Jesus who was just put to death on the cross was the very same Jesus that was standing before them. The eternal Son of God, the Word made flesh, and the creator of all things (John 1:1-3) was alive and well and a living testimony to the gospel that he was about to send them to preach all over the world. Religious organizations such as the Watchtower Society (the Jehovah's Witnesses) do not believe in the deity of Christ (Jesus is God) nor in the incarnation as the true Christians do. They believe that Jesus was previously Michael the Archangel and so on and so forth. So Jesus then made it clear to his followers that Moses, the prophets, and the psalms prophesied about all of these things concerning himself. We can rejoice as believers in Jesus Christ that we serve the one and only Saviour and our beliefs are totally backed up by the Word of God! (John 14:6, Acts 4:10-12)

SPIRITUAL BREAD FOR TODAY - JESUS IS THE GREAT I AM
âWhen Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples. And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples. Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons. Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I AM he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. As soon then as he had said unto them, I AM he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.â (John 18:1-6)
Shortly before Jesus was killed on the cross, he was betrayed by Judas, one of his own disciples. Jesus was praying in the garden of Gethsemane and he knew that Judas along with a band of men were ready to apprehend him. When the band of men arrived Jesus asked them who they were seeking and they told him "Jesus of Nazareth" and Jesus told them "I AM he" and the whole band of men fell backward. They all went down like bowling pins after a perfect strike in a bowling alley. Oh, the POWER of Almighty God! That passage of scripture is in the Bible for a reason. When Jesus answered "I AM he" he was actually saying "I AM" because the word "he" is in italics in the KJV. The name "I AM" is the name of God that the Lord gave to Moses when he spoke out of the burning bush in the book of Exodus. (Exodus 3:13-15) Jesus also used that term when he told the religious Jews " . . . before Abraham was I AM" (John 8:58) to show them his divinity. The Christian believer can rest assured that we serve a mighty Saviour who just happens to be God!

SPIRITUAL BREAD FOR TODAY - THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS IS THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY
âAnd he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow-servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.â (Revelation 19:9-10)
The apostle John had many things revealed to him in his life and here he is being ministered to by an angel of the Lord. At one point John fell down to worship this angel but the angel stopped him immediately. Don't do it is what the angel was telling John (see thou do it not). John meant well because he knew that this angel was sent from God, from Heaven above, but the angel knew that John needed correction quickly. The angel then told John that he was his fellow servant. The angel told John that he also had the testimony of Jesus, even though he saw it from the heavenly side of things. This whole gospel is all about Jesus Christ and that is what I found out when I was born again of the Spirit over 34 years ago. The idea of praying to Mary or a Catholic saint or bending my knee to a Catholic Pope became repulsive to me. I knew that it was all about Jesus and Jesus alone. Jesus said that the scriptures would " . . . testify of ME" (John 5:39) and that the Holy Spirit " . . . would testify of ME" (John 15:26) I can testify in truth today and tell you that this is exactly what happened (and happens) to me. The truth of God's Word brought me out of the hellish darkness of the Roman Catholic system and I have never looked back. This Bible breathes Jesus Christ. The multitude of prophecies testify about Jesus Christ. A preacher once said that if you were to cut the Bible in half it would bleed! I thank God for the scriptures that pointed me to Jesus Christ who gave his life as a ransom for my soul. (Matthew 20:28, Mark 10:45, 1 Timothy 2:6) I am still absolutely amazed at the hellish apostasy that I see happening in the modern-day church where Pastors and leaders are seeking to UNIFY with the Catholic church. May the Lord have mercy upon them all and wake them up before it is too late!

SPIRITUAL BREAD FOR TODAY - JESUS IS THE WORD WHO CREATED ALL THINGS
âIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.â (John 1:1-3)
That is one of the most powerful passages of scripture in the Bible. The WORD was with God and was God, but who is the WORD?
âHe was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.â (John 1:10-14)
Could the one who created the world actually have walked in the same world that we walk in today? The scriptures tell us that the "world knew him not" and that "his own received him not" but what does that mean? It means that the creator of all things did walk in this world but the majority of people (especially the Jews) did not receive him at all. They did not believe that he was the promised Messiah and certainly did not believe that he was the God who created all things. But the scriptures tell us that the WORD was made flesh and dwelt (lived) among us and we know that the WORD was God! The scriptures tell us that as many as received him had the power to become a child of God! That includes any person living in the world today.

SPIRITUAL BREAD FOR TODAY - WE HAVE A MORE SURE WORD OF PROPHECY
âFor we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.â (2 Peter 1:16-18)
The apostle Peter made it clear to the people that he knew what he was talking about and that this whole Christian thing was not a fable. He then spoke about the time that he along with John and James were on that mountaintop when they saw Jesus Christ transfigured before them. The face of Jesus shone as the Sun and his clothing became as white as the light. (Matthew 17:2) Not only that but Moses and Elijah spoke to Jesus about his death that he should accomplish at Jerusalem. (Luke 9:30-31) That is some amazing and mindblowing stuff and it is the truth! But I want you to hear what Peter said after that:
âWe have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.â (2 Peter 1:19-21)
Peter was talking about the very scriptures themselves! Peter was an eyewitness to that miraculous transfiguration upon the mountaintop, (along with John and James) but he exalted the Word of God above all of that stuff! The "more sure word of prophecy" that the apostle Peter was talking about is found in the Bible that we have in our possession today.

SPIRITUAL BREAD FOR TODAY - ETERNAL LIFE IS FOUND IN JESUS CHRIST ALONE!
âIf we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.â (1 John 5:9-12)
Do you want to know where you stand in relation to Almighty God the creator of all things? The answer to that question is a very simple one. What have you done with the truth concerning Jesus Christ the Son of God? Do you know him? Do you understand that you are dead in your sins and hell-bound without him? (Romans 3:23, 6:23, Mark 16:15-16) The scripture passage above lets us know that the believer in Jesus Christ has the witness in himself. That is a truth that cannot be ignored. The Holy Spirit will let you know with his own powerful witness inside your heart that you are a child of God. (Romans 8:16) When a person is truly born again of the Spirit they will receive that witness inside their own heart. (John 3:1-9, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Titus 3:5) So the scriptures let us know that eternal life is found in only one place and that is in Jesus Christ the Son of God. If a person has the Son then they have eternal life, but if they do not have the Son they do not have eternal life. There are literally billions in the world today who are marching toward an eternity in Hell because they do not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. They have actually made God a liar in the process by rejecting the words found inside the scriptures (the Bible). They are ignorant of the fact that the wrath of God is abiding upon them even as they go about their daily activities. (John 3:36) Do you have the eternal life that is found in Jesus Christ, the Son of God?

SPIRITUAL BREAD FOR TODAY - TRUE CHRISTIANS HAVE BEEN JUSTIFIED BY FAITH
âTherefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:â (Romans 5:1)
âFor when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.â (Romans 5:6-10)
There is absolutely NO other way for a person to get right with God than through FAITH in Jesus Christ. That is how the Lord God Almighty chose to SAVE people. I was raised as a Roman Catholic which is a religious system of man-made traditions and religious sacraments BUT there was no peace there because they preached a counterfeit gospel. I NEVER heard a priest preach the TRUE gospel as I know it today. I NEVER heard a priest read out of the book of Romans or Galatians either. Those books EXPOSE the gospel of Rome for what it is. The gospel of John is another book that talks about being born again of the Spirit also and that goes against the Catholic version of being born again at infant baptism. Oh, what a joy it is to know the Lord in truth. The Lord Jesus Christ SAVED my wretched soul over 30 years ago and I have never looked back to the church of Rome again.

I also compare the SCRIPTURES with the counterfeit teachings of other religious cults also. Your soul is precious in the sight of the Lord and it is so important for YOU to know the word of God for YOURSELF. There is nothing more important than where YOU will spend eternity! (Mark 16:15-16, John 3:36) Do not be FOOLED by the modern day false teachers who compromise with the counterfeit Church of Rome. Take the time to search the SCRIPTURES for yourself and PRAY to the LORD for guidance and He will NOT let you down!
