I love making these meat pies because there is no mess from the dough and you can have dinner done in under 30 minutes.*

I use puff pastry instead of dough. And to get the puffy edges, you have to score a square inside the square using a knife, but don’t cut all the way through, just trace it with a knife. Then spread the meat filling within that square. Bake for 15-17 minutes at 350 degrees until golden brown. Swipe left to see pics on how to. I had some pastry left so I made some zaatar pies too! Serve with Greek yogurt or labne and fresh mint*

1lbs ground beef 85/15
1/2 finely chopped onion
3/4 finely chopped tomatoes drained
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp seven slices
1/2 tsp ground black pepper

Follow my Instagram page @realDedeMed for more quick recipes. I like to find alternatives to red meat, here’s my yummy version of chicken meatballs!

1 cup finely chopped onions
2 cups finely chopped mushrooms
1 TBs butter
1/2 tsp salt
1 lb ground chicken
1/2 panko or regular bread crumbs
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 TBs olive oil

Bring a large pan up to medium heat, add the butter until it melts. Next add the onions, mushrooms, and 1/2 tsp salt, mix and cook for 5 minutes. Once they are lightly browned, remove from the pan into a large bowl and let them cook for 3-5 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients except for the oil, and mix until well combined. Form the mixture into small balls the size of gold balls. Heat up that same large pan over medium heat and add the olive oil. One the oil is warmed up add the chicken balls and cover, cook for 3 minutes, turn the balls over and cook for another 3 minutes covered. Now that they are cooked you can eat them as is in a meatball sub, or add your favorite sauce and serve over pasta.

I made this traditional dish using chunks of beef, onions, garbanzo beans, bulgar wheat and spices. This pilaf is so easy to make and full of protein and complex carbs, and goes great with plain Greek yogurt or tzatziki sauce!
