MA … it is OUR time of the year. Even as the rest of the world was busy celebrating the dawn of the new year … for me it was time to spend JUST WITH YOU AND YOUR MEMORIES … OUR HAPPY MOMENTS. On 31st December you collapsed in my arms and on 3rd of January, you left your mortal remains for heavenly abode. It’s been 2 years since that fateful day, and some might think that it isn’t right for me to still hang on and not let go. But for me … the great sorrow that befell me then, is still unbearably painful and will remain so … and I will spend these days in prayers and solitude forever.
During your lifetime, you’ve always cooked and relished delicious food. It is now my turn to treat you to your favorite dishes. Hope I’ve been able to learn a thing or two from you, and you like what I prepared. Also, you might not be aware that your grandson has now learnt how to make tea … and he’s made it for you today. I am sure you’ll be happy at this.
I am your daughter and we share a similar nature. Others might think that I am tough and strong but that’s just the external façade, as deep inside I am highly vulnerable and a very emotional person. Very few people know this and even fewer are close to me. You’re my closest … and now that you’re not there, there’s a void that no one will ever be able to fill. I will continue to feel your existence and presence till the end of my life. And during my lifetime there will always be moments for us … just us … that I will spend only with you.
The pure and divine soul that you were … you’ve always blessed and prayed for health and happiness … for me and everyone else … who knew and loved you. No one left needy or hungry from your house. Always ready to help … and going beyond means sometimes to do good to others. Even today, I am sure that you’re showering your blessings for this new year … for me and all others.
