The Contemporary World Cinema Project brings together different responses to that cacophony. Each piece found on this YouTube channel features an essay about a single film from different parts of the world. Each essay was written and edited by a first-year student from the University College program at American University in Washington, DC. If the question is, “what is world cinema?” our essays begin the conversation that we hope is the response.
