I’ve been impressed with the Ear (Open) over the past couple of weeks - excellent dialled-in sound for open wireless stereo (OWS) earbuds, comfortable all-day wear, and long-lasting stamina with minimal downtime.

Nothing‘s not letting up in 2024, following up the Phone (2a) Plus announced in early September, with another ‘one more thing…’ tail end of the month. Teased at the IFA event in Berlin, Nothing just announced Ear(open) – their first foray into the open wearable stereo space (OWS) – packed with audio innovations in Nothing DNA fashion.

Travelled with the Gibraltar aluminium carry on from LEVEL8 and it's been refreshingly fun as my companion. The removable dividers open up many different ways I use it beyond just for travel.

Aluminium hits differently and is definitely a piece I love to use as a companion on my road trips and local getaways. It's super robust and I know it protects my gear even if it takes a beating (but I baby it when I can). A beautiful carryon that's naturally heavy is aluminium, worth it for the durability and security.

LEVEL8's most affordable aluminium luggage may not have all the quality of the flagship Captain, but its flexible packing options and much lower price may be enough to sway. In some ways, I also prefer it to the Captain but there are still features worth upgrading to.
