I lost a few subscribers over my last couple videos so I wanted to talk to y'all. I'm back!
Firstly I decided to hold off on finishing my final travel vlog of the Maasai Mara in Kenya (spoiler alert) until a future date. It's a lot to edit, and the brutal reality is that most of you aren't here for that content π still it's a passion project, I WILL finish and release it eventually
What I have been able to do instead is dive into my backlog of "day-in-the-life" videos documenting my move and starting my new software engineer job. I have 5 or 6 videos in the pipeline that will be coming out over the next couple weeks
Another thing. If I ever have a bad take, or a take that you don't agree with. I'm ALWAYS open to healthy, constructive discourse
Someone commented on one of my recent videos saying they hoped I got laid off again π I genuinely wish they had the emotional intelligence to discuss why they disagreed with my take instead of jumping to wishing ill will on me... Guess that's just the internet for you

I'm not done with my actual Kenya travel vlog yet. Per usual with these kinds of videos it's tougher for me to go through all the GoPro footage and put something cool together. So while I continue to work on that. Question for the people
Do you guys want to wait for me to finish this, or post other content (that happened after Kenya) in the meantime before getting back to the Kenya vlog? These will all be "day-in-the-life" videos documenting my new life and job that are coming regardless! It just wouldn't be in chronological order π

I did receive a handful of responses in my last poll. Those of you that filled it out did wanna hear about dating, but I ultimately decided I'll keep those two videos to myself. For now at least. I think it's too soon for me to start a Patreon or something similar but those videos would be saved for that
The self improvement space was an initial, partial inspiration for this channel but I will ultimately cover two things on this channel moving forward
My thoughts and day-to-day on software engineering. I do have aspirations to leave this career but I can't deny those of you that resonated with these videos. So I'll continue to make them! It will be cool to eventually look back on these videos regardless
And of course travel! I'm actually really proud of how my Costa Rica video came out. Travel vlogging is 100% a skill so I will keep working on it πͺ

So guys! It has honestly felt great to be uploading so much, but clearly the algorithm is no longer in my favor like it once was. Itβs punishing me for theβ¦ many travel vlogs Iβve put out that havenβt garnered a lot of views and such. But I want to see how many of my subscribers see this post. The next couple videos I have in the pipeline are related to dating. I might put them out. Although I've decided that stuff isnβt related to the direction I want to take my brand (and also a little personal) Iβll do it one last time if enough of you are interested (it gives me two more days to keep editing π). It would be similar in tone to my most recent video (which you should also watch! https://youtu.be/Dy096XX-gP8). Alternatively, I could skip it, move on to my couple videos on my final trip of 2024, and my new life in Colorado. Let me know!
I'll give this until tomorrow morning to see the results. And I'll be back with a video on Tuesday πͺ

I dropped the ball with my goal to post twice per week...
Honestly my biggest road block, aside from split focus, is video editing. Day-in-the-life videos are way easier for me to get through, but anything like this that needs me to go through GoPro footage is a lot tougher
And I can't afford a video editor... But the show must go on
Luckily I only have one other upcoming video that uses GoPro footage from the last 5 months π
I have one last, big adventure coming up in mid January. I want to align this channel with where I'm at in real life by then
That means making YouTube my singular priority
Although I haven't been posting as frequently, I have been recording pretty frequently this whole time. That leaves me with a massive backlog to burn through. And with day-in-the-life videos continuing to trend, I'm optimistic about how things will go
I will be posting at least every other day if not daily. This travel vlog is probably my best one so far. Give it a watch, and thanks for sticking with me πͺ
